Hoppies Landing — Restaurant in McKinley Township

Poor service, rude waitress, nice environment. We went on a Sunday at about 1:00pm. Airport was empty, only one or two tables occupied in the restaurant so not busy. Got our table, the waitress slapped down some menu's and kinda threw the silverware onto the table. We ordered water and an appetizer and when the waitress came back with the water I told her we were ready to order. Her response, "You'll just have to wait". Well, okay. A few other people came in, sat down. She finally came back, took our orders. We got our sandwiches and she said she'd be back to pick up the plates from the appetizer. My Reuben was good except one half of it only had one slice of meat on it with very little dressing. Since the waitress had said she'd come back for the appetizer plates, I was eating my sandwich slowly hoping she'd come back and I could get more dressing. Nope. Didn't come back (at least for 15 or 20 minutes). Finally, my friend with me caught the waitresses attention and asked for a refill on water and the dressing for me. The waitress finally came back with both and as she was leaving she said, "You ladies just have to wait .." and some other rude comments. Yes, we had been quietly grumbling about the service but the water and the dressing were the only things we had asked for once she'd dropped off the appetizers. We weren't bothering her with numerous requests for stuff. She was rude and because of her poor service and rude attitude, she got a tip that reflected both. By the time we left, there was probably four or five other tables that had people at it. She may have been the only waitress there but at the time we got there, it wasn't busy at all and her attitude the entire time was that we were a pain in the butt. I won't go back and won't recommend it. Very different service from the Hoppie's in Cheboygan. Went on Sunday, Oct 20, 2019...

HIGHLY RECOMMEND... A fantastic establishment inside the beautiful Pelston Airport. (Worth a visit to check out the rustic decor with huge stone fireplace!)

It was a quiet Monday night around 7:00. Six other people were there upin arrival. We sat at the bar for dinner.

Calvin, our server and bar tender, was fantastic. Welcoming, friendly, and attentive. We enjoyed chatting with him and the couple also seated near us.

They have a great selection of food items on the menu: pasta, fish, shrimp, sandwiches. We had the salmon with maple ginger glaze, whipped potatoes, and steamed beans. An absolute fabulously tasting meal. Everything was done perfectly! I was told the rolls were yummy as well.

A great selection of desserts: Peanut butter pie, Double Chocolate cake (very dense and rich), a lemon cake, and a cheese cake, I believe. Serving sizes were...

Weekend of Dec 3, we were in town for a Robotics competition. We had come from Novi. We ordered the dinner on Friday and the manager ensured that the pizzas were ready by the time we needed them. Everything was perfect. The next day they open at 12 and the competition lunch was at 12:30. I asked the manager (Greg) if we can still pick up the order at 12 and he said we could. I get there at 12 and I find the pizzas ready!! This was amazing service from the restaurant. Since I had 10 pizzas, the manager even came and help deliver them to my car! Now about the pizzas.. everyone on the team absolutely loved the pizzas. We ordered single toping veggie pizzas and people tried all of them over two days and had nothing but good...
