My husband and I were waiting to order something and he pointed at an empty table and said hey, let’s sit there. I said OK sure. I went to sit down. The waitress stopped me and said “you can’t sit there- there are other people” I said “my bad” and left the table, but she couldn’t just leave the conversation there. She had to add on in a passive aggressive tone “yeah there are other people waiting” gesturing at all of the people behind me to make me feel stupid. And once she sat a group at the table, she also had to make another smart remark about me to them.

Let me explain something.

I decided to get out of the house that day because my mother in law offered to watch my 3 month old. I don’t leave the house much, so I was excited. I was also exhausted. In addition to caring for a newborn, I’m also recovering from sepsis which almost took my life after I gave birth. I am not functioning 100% cognitively.

So when I sat down at that table, I wasn’t trying to be rude or inconsiderate. I came back to the restaurant to even explain this to the waitress and she pretended to have no clue what I was talking about even though it happened 10 minutes prior. If you really forgot that quickly, be a little more intentional with the way you speak to people. Your negative interaction ruined my day. I’m sure you could tell as I left crying. I have eaten here on and off over the past 20 years. Second time with new owners. I had catfish and onion rings for lunch. By that night I was pretty sick with major stomach issues, cramping etc. it was pretty intense though Monday night. Maybe it was a coincidence and was a stomach virus. Either way I won’t be going back (and I love their burger) because I saw the cook, an older male, hand patty out several burgers then, reach directly into the onion ring bag several times. one of our local stores at the intersection to the park. definitely stop in for last minute supplies for camping, fishing(large variety), refreshments, souvenirs- and of course, the restaurant! the cooks know their stuff, i honestly go here at least 3 times a month for ho memade pintos and cornbread! Delish! they offer different home style plates as well as short orders from the grill. you just cant go wrong. keep up the fantastic work yall,...
