Modern Provisions Dulles — Restaurant in McNair

We dined here while staying at the Westin-Dulles hotel. I ordered the crab cake dinner. It was served with a slaw, fingerling potatoes and asparagus/carrots. It was suppose to come with a sauce, but didn’t. It was just ok. For $36, it was way overpriced. My husband got the shrimp mushroom ravioli. The shrimp and sauce were very good, but the ravioli tasted like they came from a grocery store and were not hand made. The service was great.

Padella, located inside the Westin Dulles Hotel, is a great spot I’ve visited a couple of times last month.

As a vegetarian, I was really impressed with the care the staff took to ensure everything I was served was either vegetarian or vegan, with no eggs. The food was delicious — I especially enjoyed the potato wedges and the bruschetta, which were both excellent. The vegan burger was also a pleasant surprise, and their mocktails were refreshing and well-made.

This was one of the most amazing restaurants I have been. For real. The staff, not to mention very knowledgeable, but so kind and friendly. Always checking up on you with honest and genuine interest.

Food? Amazing. Simply. AMAZING. It was a travel trip and I’m so sad I didn’t have my husband with me to eat this food. Incredible. Well cooked. Sophisticated. Really. REAL FOOD. Cooked with what it seemed to be REAL AND GOOD ingredients. Felt very safe eating there.
