Wells Hog Wild BBQ & Grill — Restaurant in Mead Township

We stopped here for dinner And were informed that what we wanted to get we couldn’t because the wait for chicken was an hour and that they don’t make substitutions of any kind. The lady running the register didn’t seem very informed or very well trained to be able to help customers order off the menu when they are out of something or there is along wait time for meat. She didn’t even offer a solution or suggestion about what to order because half the menu included chicken. And after a few questions she honestly didn’t seem to care and went back into the kitchen after telling us that she didn’t want to get in trouble by her boss for changing anything or making a substitution and someone else came out to take our order. We got the pit boss choice and cole slaw. And our kids got grilled cheese and chicken tenders with sides. The brisket was all fat and had hardly any flavor along with the rest of our meat. Though they were very tender. The bbq sauce they gave us for dipping was awesome and totally saved the meat. The hush puppies were hard as rocks and raw in the middle, the cole slaw was terrible like eating pure apple cider vinegar and after a few bites and a few of my brothers we found that they were completely different. My wife and I stopped in a few minutes after they opened for the day and took a little time to check out the menu. The options are good, meat options were all the standards you'd expect from a BBQ place. They have several sauce options and all the standard sides you'd expect as well. Being our first time here I ordered a family meal with all their sides and three meats, my wife ordered their loaded macaroni and cheese. Their was only one employee at this time and she took our order and let us know we could sit anywhere we want. Seating options inside are two picnic tables and three bars with tall seats and outside under a little canopy of sorts there's several picnic tables. I am not complaining about seating, this is exactly what I was expecting from a little BBQ joint and am perfectly happy with it. At this point our food was delivered and it looked AMAZING. Overall everything was very good, the Voodoo sauce that I chose was incredible. I ended bagging up most of the food to take home which was my plan. Hats off to the young woman working by herself that day she was as friendly and polite and never looked put off...

First off, the food is consistently scrum diddily umptious. I’ve tried it multiple times and every time it’s delish. This time though was especially cray because I wanted to try some Carolina Reaper wings because I saw it on the menu. I only ended up getting through one wing to try the flavor. Xander (kind staff member) though was intrigued by the wings when I ordered them and he wanted to try 5 of them himself. I of course was surprised because 5 Carolina Reaper wings was quite the feat but I was delighted that I wouldn’t do this alone. When the wings came out I was flabbergasted and had to stop after one wing but he ate all 5 in less than a 2 minutes and maintained eye contact with a singular member of my party the entire time. We were thoroughly impressed and he kept them down for a minute or two before throwing up in the bushes (outside the establishment).
