Trailside Lounge & Grill Inc — Restaurant in Meadowlands

I stopped in on a blistering hot day (97°!!) for a cool refreshment. Owen, the proprietor of the establishment, served me himself. There’s a well-stocked bar, several kinds of beers on tap, a pool table, and plenty of space. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly; Owen was outgoing, chatty, and interested as any good barkeep ought to be in my esoteric hobby of birding. The person next to me ordered a Bloody Mary and what a fantastic looking drink it was! Flags galore: a smoked meat stick, a cheese stick, pickles, olives. It turns out this Bloody Mary won an award for best in the whole region. The customer did say it was delicious.

Basic small town bar and grill atmosphere but the food was quite good. I had a walnut apple salad with grilled chicken with nice crisp romaine lettuce and plenty of chicken along with a nice dressing and a good breadstick. My husband had the sliced steak with mushrooms and cheese toasted sandwich that came with several choices for sides. He had the chips, which may have been made on site and came witha dip. My first experience at Trailside was wonderful, and I will certainly be going back again soon. I got the mushroom onion steak melt with the chicken noodle soup and it was absolutely delicious. The service was great and it feels nice and cozy inside. Well done Trailside crew, keep up...
