Stopped back and the restaurant is under new ownership/management. The inside is simple, rustic, and inviting. Just as I remember it when Monty and Linda Dickson owned it. Patrons that were there were sharing memories of the past and likened it to Cheers, where everyone knows your name. The one big change is the menu. My wife had potroast which was served in a BIG bowl with homemade mash potatoes, carrots, onion, mushrooms and potroast. I had the 4 piece chicken and sides. All the food was great and a very good portions, enough that we walked out with to-go boxes! Our server was very nice and attentive even with me teasing her about being a southpaw (so am I) One of the owners, Ron, stopped by our table and asked how everything was and we assured him that we will back! It's great to see a little nostalgia back in West Mecca. Wait until the campers and fisherman catch wind that Monty's...
Read moreOur weekly Girl's Night Out/In took us to Monty's by Mosquito Lake. It's a drive out there but the food is definitely worth every mile. We ordered a hot roast beef sandwich that was enough for two people. The beef was so tender and the mashed potatoes and gravy were delicious. Next it was two pork chops and mashed potatoes and creamed corn. The pork chops were huge and so tasty. The mashed potatoes homemade and the cream corn was yummy. We put the creamed corn over the mashed potatoes which was even better. Last but not least was the beer battered cod with fries. Heaven on earth and the fries were the fair kind which are always delish. We got dessert also and oh em gee. A mini strawberry pie which was soooo good and strawberry shortcake which was amazing. It may be a drive but the food is so worth it. Take a leisurely drive out and enjoy the lake and especially enjoy a meal...

This past Saturday, my daughter woke up asking to go to Monty's so we met up with a family member at the restauraunt. As soon as we entered we were not greeted, which was understandable because it was relatively busy, but multiple people walked in after us and were greeted enthusiastically with a "Good morning!" We sat at the table waiting patiently for a server, but eventually I realized the people walking in after us were not only being greeted but also brought menus and the server was taking their orders. We were there for around 25 minutes and we were not even acknowledged. We have never experienced such rude treatment and I had to leave with disappointed children that wanted...
