Was really looking forward to eating at a local sub shop instead of a chain restaurant. Came from 1000 miles away, and looking for a good spot the locals eat at. Got here at 11:30 and waited in line. When I got to the front to order I was told they’re not doing lunch right now. The cashier didn’t follow up with the time they would be serving it, just that they couldn’t give it to me now. No where on google, their menu, or their website was it specific that they served breakfast or lunch at specific times outside of the normal time they are served, except that breakfast is served all day. You would think you would be able to get a simple cold sub at 11:30, which is lunch time, and you literally just have to pull it out of the fridge. When we got to the car we called to see when they would be serving lunch to see if we had time to wait, and the guy who answered said “oh maybe 12:00, 12:30”. I guess this place just does whatever they feel like and doesn’t have good customer service. It’s a shame because the place appeared to have a good menu....

Read moreNow my go to spot for a lunch sub, Jim’s Market, open for 42 years. I’ve been a few times now and every time has been outstanding. The service by the staff is excellent and the food there has been fantastic. Not only do they have the best breakfast sandwiches around but the lunch subs here are fantastic. For the breakfast sandwiches, a bacon bboy with a hash brown in it is my go to with a little James River Barbeque sauce on it. For lunch, try the Nate Special, a great mix of steak and cheese, chicken fingers and bacon and mixed in with the James River Barbeque sauce. Jim’s has the best bang for your buck and you definitely won’t...
