My husband and I were so looking forward to a nice meal at the Timber Lodge last night. I guess our expectations should not have been so high as our experience there was merely adequate. The restaurant itself was very quaint, quiet and very clean as we expected. Our waitress was extremely friendly and more than willing to get us anything we needed. So far, we are set up to have a wonderful evening. The drinks were mixed exceptionally well and as we looked over the menu, we were happy to see that the selection was bountiful. We ordered our appetizer which, my husband got the lobster bisque and I ordered the French onion soup. Both were delicious, however, this is where the snag starts. As soon as we ordered, I promptly excused myself to go to the restroom to wash my hands and, while I was gone, my husband's soup arrived and he was halfway done with it by the time I returned to the table. Still no french onion soup for me. I tasted his lobster bisque and it was very tasty, and couldn't wait for my soup to arrive. My husband finished his soup, and still no french onion soup for me. One of the busboys was passing our table and looked surprised as my husband's empty bowl was on the edge of the table and still no soup for me. He said he was going to see what was going on as he removed my husband's bowl. About 10 minutes later, my soup finally arrived (no reasoning as to why it came so long after my husband's nor an apology for the delay). As tasty as the soup was, it was barely warm and the cheese on top was extremely hard, as if it had been sitting a while. To say the least, we were not very happy at this point but, was going to push through this evening as best we could in hopes for a better meal. My husband ordered the pan-seared scallops and I ordered the prime rib. Thankfully, our dinners came at the same time, delivered to our table by busboys that seemed to be in a hurry to just set our plates down and leave but we were ready to feast! Not so much. Although the food looked absolutely delicious, my husband's scallops were way overcooked and very tough. My prime rib, just as my soup was, not very warm at all. I do have to get kudos as my husband's asiago smashed potatoes were delicious and my baked potato was tasty. We were so disappointed in this meal as we needed a night out together, perhaps the last night out before businesses may get shut down again. Timber Lodge is not a cheap place to eat and I feel the quality of food that we received did not warrant the price we paid and with that being said, we will be very skeptical...
Read moreFour of us went for dinner at the Timber Lodge last evening. I have to say, I was highly disappointed. I ordered the pear martini, which is usually one of my favorite drinks. I ended up having to send it back because it didn't even taste like it had alcohol in it...very watered down. A martini is supposed to be mostly alcohol, and trust me there wasn't much in this one. We were excited to learn that they had some delicious sounding appetizer and dinner specials that night. We ended up getting the Ahi tuna appetizer, and that was pretty good. Things really went downhill when we received our dinners. I did order one of the specials, a 5 ounce filet with three diver scallops. I ordered my steak medium, but that's definitely not what I received. It was well done unfortunately. I didn't want to send the steak back because I already felt bad for sending back the martini. My significant other ordered the rib eye steak special which was honestly just terrible. It was just a really, really bad cut of meat. It was so stringy inside, that it was difficult to chew. I would have just talked up his steak to a bad cut of meat, but my friend ordered the prime rib and said his was difficult to chew as well. The rib eye dinner alone was $70, so our bill for the two of us ended up being $300. Pretty crappy for getting an over cooked filet and a really bad rib eye. This wasn't my first bad experience here, but we thought we'd give it another try. Unfortunately, giving it another try cost us $300 and a bad outcome. I'll stick to Delmonico's, Capital Grille or Ken Stewart's if I want a good steak. I gave them a three-star rating for atmosphere because I feel like they have become outdated and worn. Don't put plastic tablecloths on your tables and then charge people 70 to $100 for a...
Read moreDistasteful! My boyfriend and I stopped in today and were told that we could no longer have service from the servers any more because we did not tip enough!!! That’s right you read that correctly! We have been Regulars at this restaurant for the past two years it was our favorite up until today. We have always been well respectful regulars always treated nicely never any issues with anything we enjoyed going here up until today. We always tip more than enough and I happen to be a waitress myself in the industry I live off of Tips too, I understand how servers make a living off tips . We are good people he is a hard-working farmer Working day and night 900 cows ..this was the place we came to too relax and enjoy ourselves. Up until today I have never been more disappointed or ashamed And even humiliated with what we experienced today. Just last month I came in and pre-ordered a prime rib that I paid over $150 for and also left the bartender a nice tip. We also have spent over $200 in gift cards as Christmas gifts and had planned on purchasing more gift cards for family coming into town earlier today. As a matter of fact I had more than $600 cash in my pocket as this man(Perry) is telling us that we cannot be served because we are not good tippers and also said we are costing the servers money !!!I surely thought he had us confused with someone else! Unbelievable is an understatement I hope you guys don’t treat all of your customers this way. Maybe I should have left $20 so he could buy himself an ounce of manners , that’s how you lose good business and much more to come because our friends and family will NOT be back! And if that’s how you treat talk to your Guest/regulars for that matter you shouldn’t be in hospitality at all because that is NOT how you deal...
