My wife and I ordered the chimichanga dinners. I wanted two beef chimichangas but received one beef and one chicken. My wife order two chicken and received the correct order. Chimichangas are supposed to be fried and the exterior tortilla is supposed to be crispy. These were not. The chicken was very dry. Unfortunately, like every other "Mexican restaurant" in the region, this is not true Mexican, but "Americanized Mexican" food. It's pre-made and all they do it heat it up so to complain about the dry chicken really doesn't matter as they don't make the chimichangas themselves. The tortilla chips were fried in old oil that made them taste like "old oil" instead of flavorful corn chips. The staff are extremely friendly. I do hope that they receive their liquor license soon and improve their food. The owners are from Mexico, which is awesome, so I do hope that they start actually making their food in house and presenting more authentic flavor. This will increase the cost, but I would certainly pay the extra money and I believe that the...
Read moreI'm between 3 and 4 stars on this. The food was decent enough, bit over cooked. I ordered flautitas for lunch. The service wasn't great, the layout is odd, and the wrappers on the silverware had the Fiesta Jalepeno's logo. Fiesta is in Medina and I'm not a fan of that establishment. My friend and I were seated, drink orders taken, and brought to us quickly. The food came out fast but after that, we were barely noticed. Our waiter was very busy and that's understandable, but we didn't get napkins, an offer for water/drink refill, etc... Most of the time we spent there was waiting on our checks, then waiting 15min for the waiter to come back for payment. I hate Styrofoam but expected it (forgot my own to-go container) and asked for a piece of parchment paper. It was a little off-putting to our waiter but he did help me with that. I would give it another try but definitely didn't love it. Like, yes, it's okay, for sure. I was headache hungry and this took care of...
Read moreSo my best take away on this place is the rice. The simplistically easy creation that many places get wrong. There are not many places I've ever even noticed the rice let alone based a review on. The rice was done perfectly, add the rest and you have an amazing meal. I had regular margarita on the rocks, he had the frozen mango, we went gold (the only way to go) I had an excellent drink, his was a little sour for his taste. The salsa was thin, but very flavorful and we enjoyed it very much, though the chips are awkwardly huge. Dinner for me was the chimichanga combo (minus ranchero sauce) which was delicious, I can't even tell you if I liked the chicken or beef better because they were both fantastic. He had the fajita and everything was perfectly done and the flavor came together amazingly. We will definitely come back and will recommend to all of...
