This is not your modern gourmet Chinese food. This is the old school New England style Chinese food that we grew up with. I have been coming here for over 40 years. When you sit at the bar, the other patrons instantly make you feel like family. There is definitely a regular crowd, however even if it's your first time you can join the conversation and everyone is friendly. It is a family owned and operated restaurant. The majority of the time you will see either Joe or his brother Tommy. Their dad is in the kitchen. You will notice money tacked to the ceiling, that gets donated to a kids cancer foundation. They are famous for their Mai Tai's and Scorpion Bowls! Joe worked hard to keep the prices down when all of the restaurant supplies went up. They still make the old school egg rolls with celery. I've always been a fan of their chicken wings, Peking raviolis, crab rangoons, beef and chicken teriyaki. Their lobster sauce is solid. In my mom's final days, the only thing she would eat was Medway Lotus lo mein. Within reason they will cater to your wishes and let you substitute an item. Some things might add a buck or two. Definitely not due to greed. They have well over 20 combinations on their luncheon menu. Karaoke on the weekends. The dining area is nicely decorated in Asian decor adding to the ambiance. The 5 stars really reflects the atmosphere, the owners and the patrons that really add to the experience. I want to comment that there's a review on here where someone wrote the workers had a language barrier. The family that owns and operates the restaurant speak perfect English. The owner was a waiter there before he bought it when I was growing up. It was an ignorant comment. If you want to take a step back in time, or if you want to go somewhere to feel comfortable and forget about the outside world for a little bit, check out the Medway Lotus! While sitting at the bar just be respectful and not a "buffoon" and you will have...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Medway Lotus Restaurant in Medway, MA, and I can confidently say that it was one of the best dining experiences I have ever had! The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was outstanding.
But what really stood out to me was the exceptional ownership of Joe. He made sure that our dining experience was nothing short of perfect. From the moment we walked in the door, we were greeted with a warm welcome and attentive service throughout our meal.
The menu had a wide range of options to choose from, and everything we ordered was cooked to perfection. From the appetizers to the entrees and desserts, every dish was bursting with flavor and presented beautifully.
The ambiance of the restaurant was also top-notch, with a cozy and inviting atmosphere that made us feel right at home. The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure that we had everything we needed throughout our meal.
In summary, I highly recommend Medway Lotus Restaurant for anyone who wants to enjoy a fantastic meal in a wonderful environment. And a big shoutout to Joe for being such a great owner and making our dining experience so memorable. I will definitely be coming...
Read moreI can only provide a rating and review for the service I experienced because I left without getting any food.
The guy at the counter started to take my $95 order (7 items) and a customer came in behind me and gave the guy his name. The guy told me "one second, please", then gave the other man his order and took payment. The man asked for extra duck sauce and the guy went and got it from the kitchen!
Then, the man asks for something else and the guy tells him "one minute, please" and he took a phone call... After 40 seconds, he told the caller to call back, it was a bad connection.
He continued to take my order, two more items and the phone rings again, he answered it and took the callers' order! Finally, he continues taking my order and with one item left, the phone rings again. When he answered it and began taking another order, I turned and said to the man still waiting, "I guess I should have phoned!"...
