L & M Cafe — Restaurant in Melrose

I takes a lot for me to leave a negative review, but I want prevent our experience from happening to others.

We recently used L&M catering for a wedding and was VERY disappointed in the service. Booked their services a year in advance and had several conversations with Martha over the course of year since booking, and talked to Martha several times the last two weeks leading up to the wedding. Learned from our venue owner the evening before the wedding that Martha double booked our wedding date and she was sending her sisters who had little to no experience in serving a wedding. I found this very irritating that Martha never mentioned this to me and I had to learn the evening before the wedding. On wedding day, they were 1 hour and 20 minutes late and by the time we ate, nearly 2 hours. The head table service was terrible and if it wasn't for the venue owner, I'm not sure the wedding party would have had enough to eat. The wedding was at 2 pm and we didn't eat until nearly 7 pm. This pushed our other vendors back and only ended up having a little less than a three hour dance instead of 4. Photographers were also delayed and left before capturing much of dance. Needless to say, this caused a lot of stress on many To keep guests entertained that long waiting to eat was inexcusable. We really wanted to use local vendors to give them the business. In this instance, we paid the price. Needless to say, I will not be using their catering services...

Do NOT eat at the L&M in Melrose.

I got food poisoning after the worst service/experience of my life. No wonder the diner was empty.

The pizza burger is... Freezer burnt and you get 1 pepperoni on it. The sampler platter will come out both still frozen and burnt. The Blt... It will come disassembled and you only get 1 strip of bacon for the whole sandwich. (Which they must've left the bacon out all night then cooked it off, for this is what I ate). The fries will taste like fish.

You will wait 10 minutes for someone to ask your drink order. You won't be visited again by your server- she's too busy eating grilled cheese and folding silverware at the same time 🤢 next to the owner.

Janelle was awesome... she helped get everything I asked for. I had never before gone here. This place rocked, with my company and I coming in 10 minutes before closing. Even made us new food.!!! Multiple different foods for every palette.. such a great time. Ok second time going a little hiccup, I asked for more light meat chicken to be made for my dad and I. They did, however they put it out on the buffet and we didn't get any. Sad day. Then was told by owner that we had chicken options on the buffet, so why didn't we take the...
