Meng's Chinese Cuisine — Restaurant in Memphis

Horrible! Don't buy from here! The chicken is not chicken. Don't get me wrong! I use to love mengs. Growing up in Memphis, this was the spot my parents use to buy for the whole family to eat almost every Saturday. But, a week ago I got the large combinations rice and I wanted to try out their sweet and sour chicken. (Because my family been getting the same meal here for the past 20 years. Which was the combination rice.) I rushed home to eat with my family. I thought at first bite: the breading wasn't good and the sauce did not taste like no sweet and sour. It tasted like some cheap sugary sauce. But,I overlooked all that, because I was hungry.But once I bit into it the third time, I almost threw up! It tasted off! I dug more into the sweet and sour chicken and it did not look like the chicken they normally have! It was off! Even the combination fried rice, my family normally buy the steak and chicken did not taste like the real thing. I told my family and they agreed and almost threw up too. Mane!!! This experience made me and my whole family lose our appetite to want to eat at Mengs ever again! Out of the 20 years my family been going here, Mengs have never done this when we went. They must have ran low on money. Because this the first time I've ever encountered them doing this to the food. This my last time eating here. Meng's, you just lost a gang of loyal customers all because you wanted to be cheap. God...

I am not impressed at all. The food was super bland and the sweet and sour chicken oh my goodness please stop selling or make a new sauce. I tried this place because my co workers said it was good. I think they say it's good because it's cheap. I am chef and I can cook many cuisines they missed on this. I am so sorry but this was not it. I had to drench my rice in soy sauce to get some type of flavor in my tongue. I've had better flavored rice. And that rice they put with meals please STOP that rice looks absolutely terrible just terrible. Black people cheap doesn't equal good food. God bless this...

I'm only giving a 1 🌟 because 0 wasn't available. I've been a customer of this location for many years and normally satisfied each visit. Today i go to place an order and because it's crowded I drive to the back of the building to turn around and a cook comes from the back door and proceeds to look around and then uses the bathroom in the corner of the building with the apron on as well. I will say this, at least he had a mask on. I call to let them know and the lady ask what's my order and do I still want to place an order? NO...
