Let me start off by saying this was my favorite place in Memphis. This is where you go if you want a real Memphis experience. Beale Street is fine and fun but get away from it and find a real juke joint. And this is the best of those. My first time in the place was just great. It is located near a neghiborhood in North Memphis, the location has the look and feel of a place that's been there for years. Once we were inside we were greeted with a smile a hand shake and a hug. I immediately felt like I'd been coming there for years. Make sure to bring cash with you no credit cards here. They sell beer in 40 oz jars and the food is amazing. But that's not why you came here, you came here for authentic Memphis blues style music, and you are in for a treat the band is AMAZING! Funny and talented they constantly interact with the guest. I can't stress enough how welcomed I felt, the place is fun and feels like you are just hanging out with some friends and you get to enjoy some great great music. I left with new friends and great memories. Do not let the location bother you out of towners, this is a safe and fun location. Do yourself the favor and check...

This was the best experience of a too-short trip to Memphis.
I believe the cover was 10 bucks and more than worth it. The house band was fantastic and very interactive with the maybe 20 people in the room, who were either drinking their BYOA (I saw 40s and big bottles of pink wine, lol), enjoying chicken from the kitchen, or just enjoying the music. Great, great fun! Thank...
Read moreIt may be a legend but we didn't get that experience. Now granted we got there early before a crowd or music had started but their website says the same lady performs 8pm each Saturday. We were welcomed by the DJ however another table made us feel very uncomfortable. We had ordered food (10 wings) and when I took a break after 3 wings the warriors came over and repeatedly offered boxes. I took this as a hint we needed to leave. Sad since we had our food -5min, it was still hot when I boxed it.
Would have loved to see some blues but outside a nice conversation with the DJ I was left feeling...
