This little Mexican restaurant sits on I49 North. I made the uturn because i was headed south. It's across from J&J antiques. I sat in the booth next to the door and window. Once seated, i was served chips and salsa. The salsa did not match the environment, true, authentic Mexican. With that being said, i have had better. This tasted like it came from a can versus the fresh cut tomatoes, onions and cilantro I am used to. They give a lot of chips and salsa for just one person. I was greeted by my waiter, Edmond, who took my drink order; sweet tea. The tea has the right amount of sweetness, not too sweet. I ordered the shrimp fajitas (one serving) it came with shrimp grilled with bellpepers and onions, Mexican rice, lettuce, beans with very little cheese sauce, sour cream, chopped tomato and onion (very little) and 3 flour tortillas. Don't think they washed the wood serving plate because it still had dried cheese on it and there was no cheese on my steamer. Pray the rest of the dishes were washed, especially with the grade A for the restaurant. The grilled shrimp, onions and bell peppers were seasoned and grilled to perfection with the shrimp cleaned and deveined. The refried beans were thick but good. The rice balanced everything in the fajita out. The tortilla was soft and fresh. It was a very good recommendation considering i was going to try the quail since i have never had it. They get alot of business, especially from the locals. I got a tea Togo and I walked away stuffed for only $18.71+tip. The AC filter definitely needed some tlc. There were a few flies flying around due too the door constantly in motion. I highly recommend they clean the window seals in between customers. Also could use a little wall washing and paint. Definitely wipe down the backs of the chairs...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI only gave one star just so I could have the opportunity to share todays experience. Other than that reason- they donāt even deserve the one āļø! My two Children along with three of our employees dined in today as they do at least two to three times a week - today two out of the five plates that was brought to the table had hairS (yes HAIRS) multiple in each plate. The two individuals representing this business made them pay for the food that was not even ate due to the lack of sanitation that was proven with the violation of Hairs intermingled in their food. When voiced that they were in violation and they would be reported due to the fact that two customers were made to pay for food that was not edible and also a health hazard - he voiced basically that he didnāt care. I normally donāt post anything negative and try to support all our local businesses but this is one that for the health safety mainly and customer service that is lacking in this facility-we will not and can not risk any other visits in the future. I understand sometimes things happen - but you make...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe original location, near Vowell's Marketplace, wasn't very good, but I have to give the new location credit. It's remarkably better. My wife is a bit picky when it comes to the chips, the salsa, and the queso at Mexican restaurants, and she actually liked all three. The service was pretty great, too; I was worried my wife wouldn't like the queso, so I asked for a sample just in case, and they obliged without hesitation. They also checked with us just often enough to where we didn't get impatient and didn't feel overwhelmed. It was one of the better experiences we've had at a Mexican restaurant in the...
