South Side Restaurant — Restaurant in Meredosia

I don't frequent this establishment because of the many times I have eaten here and it was awful, however last time I brought my family down for dinner it was good. So today my husband and I stopped on our way home from shopping to get a quick sandwich. I guess I should have known better than to order something fried after they fried chicken all a.m. for their lunch special. The "hand breaded tenderloin" looked like nothing more than a fried butterfly pork chop and my breaded chicken was very tender on the inside, however you could taste the burnt flour from the fried chicken in the breading of the chicken sandwich and the fried pork chop. Was not impressed, will probably not go back again for sometime as this was the reason I quit going there in the first place. Ordered their special of pork fritters w fries. A few of the fritters and all of the Fries were half cold and complained to waitress whom i believe was relatively new. She told me she would let "jenny" know. Seemed as if some if the food had been previously cooked and then served to me. After waiting for some response to the complaint which never came i complained to "jenny"who acknowledged the complaint and could have cared less, so paid the bill and left a tip, accordingly. COLD draft beer. Leave your big city attitude behind. Many would consider The South Side a dive bar. This is a small river town with this gem of a gathering place. Catfish or Buffalo. The fish is delectable. Warning though, if you brave the chicken livers and gizzards, bring an appetite! Your plate will be heaped with scorching hot goodness.
