Pica's Deli & Ice Cream — Restaurant in Methuen

Picas Pub and Grill next door has excellent cooks and bartenders. We tried out the deli next door, using the online app to call ahead for take-out. I ordered lobster rolls and a 3-way Roast Beef, and a large french fry. The app said 40-4 minutes, which I thought was excessive, but it was dinner time. The staff was extremely friendly. A women confirmed the expected time of 45 minutes. I walked around. The place was mostly empty, but really nice, in a rustic way that suits the area. The food was read about 20 minutes after I ordered it.

The lobster rolls were in a small bun, but stuffed with good tasty lobster. The roll was buttered and grilled. But it was cold. Perhaps some like it that way. I said no to the mayo, and melted my own hot butter. The fries were very thin, McDonald's style, but they were fresh and not over cooked. The 3 way was stuffed and dripping with the James River sauce. The Beast was a delicious medium rare. I'm not a big fan of Mayo or American Cheese, but, that's the 3-way and I gave it a try. At $12, it seemed a bit on the high side compared to other local places. The lobster 🦞 rolls were $25 each which seemed in line with others this season. The fries were $6. We would have been happy with the medium version for $4.

Overall, the food was good, but not outstanding. I'll go back. The menu looks excellent, and I know how well they prepare their next door. I wish I could get a beer...

We rented the Greenhouse space for a bridal shower for my future DIL. Shane was always very responsive and timely to any pre questions etc.

Shane and his staff did an outstanding job of setting everything up for food, food was delicious and hot. We did the brunch menu . Staff refilled things that were running low and did not seem like you were "bothering" them if you had a request, despite them also working in the deli and it was a busy Saturday. The space was inviting , cozy and comfortable for the 60 people that attended and everyone had a great time. The bridal shower turned out beautifully thanks to Shane and his staff. Shoutout to JoJo and Cain who were are go to people plus others.

Highly recommend this space for an event! Outside space can also be rented but we didn't need it but did use it with the littles to run around a bit. Adirondack chairs, tables, fire pit etc. Would not hesitate to use this event space...

I gotta say, I literally opened this account JUST to leave this review because LOOK AT THIS ART!!! I’m simply blown away. I consider myself a glizzy connoisseur and never in all my days have I received a dog remotely this beautiful. You can tell some love was put into this cut, and the FLAVOR that erupted from these puppies 🤌 For me, it’s the bun that was used. It was so soft and delicious! Although it doesn’t look like much in this picture, those buns complimented these glizzies elegantly. I didn’t ask, but the buns were grilled too, which was much to my delight! So maybe ask if you’re not into that, but boy was I happy. Will definitely be back for more! Pica’s never disappoints. The “Triple Crown” and “Picadilla” are literal masterpieces and whoever is behind these ideas PLEASE keep going! The community needs more culinary delights and Picas and its deli have spoken!...
