After being told by a MANAGER to wait for them to tell us of an open table, 15 mins later we asked the bartender who informed us it was open seating. Mind you, there were 6 people who had been standing with us (sperate groups) and a couple in front of us. We all found tables. It then took 40 mins to get a beer, 50 mins to have our table cleared off. (Yes, the table clearing came after the beers.) Our server let it be known they were unstaffed, which we could clearly see. While I am sympathetic to this, normally, I would assume they would have had better luck if they had started staffing prior to one week ago. We ordered our food at the same time as our beers. An HOUR later, one caeser wrap and one burger arrived. We were missing our appetizer of fried asparagus, two cups of soup, and a caesar wrap without fries or sauce (the easiest). This then took another 10 mins. We were told by our server that the manager would be visiting our table- awesome. After listening to the manager schmooze the table behind us with light jokes and introducing his beer rep for several minutes, I asked a server for her manager. She alerted the man and he "quickly" came to the table, apologizing that he just now heard we needed him. Again, he JUST now heard due to my speaking to a separate server. After discussing our various issues, related to the overall run of the business and understaff, I then saw him gesturing what seemed to be an argument to our server. As a past server, I admit I intervened. This was NOT on her, she had been attentive from the moment she knew to take our table. The time of the kitchen and understaffing is not her fault. Walking up, I reiterated we did not blame our server. The manager related he was "pro server", meanwhile, ours servers face (and the faces of the others) looked to depict otherwise. I am a local, I love within 5 mins, arriving for dinner at 7:25, I expected to be gone by 9, at the latest. Instead, my food arrived just after 9, cold, and disappointing. As a local, we were told this would be a place of a noncompetitive stance and local support. I can guarantee you NONE of the ingredients are local sourced, everything was too clearly frozen. As far as non competitive, they're damn right. I'd go to Village grocery, Miamiville Tavern, or Shady O Grady's for a nice meal before I would ever return to the Trailyard.
This doesn't even touch on the unmarked parking lot that is sure to be a disaster. Or the only entrance/exit located between the busiest intersection on this side of Cincinnati without a light.
When this place first "arrived", I was skeptical. A local to Miamiville my entire life, this seemed outside of our small town vibe. However, I set aside my prior judgement and went in wanting to celebrate my new job with friends and family. My worst fears were confirmed, some "local" (though the brochure lists a westsider and an eastsider came together- where's the local?) came in with a load of money and said, "a restaurant is an excellent idea here!"... Without having an restaurant experience. At all. An eye sore to the local community and a danger to the visibility of the trail, this is the nightmare of those who grew up here. And the food isn't even great.
One star because, well, at least they don't make their own beer and source it locally.
We were told the "red carpet would be laid out the next you visit" but honestly, there's no red carpet that would ever erase this...

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 An Unforgettable Father’s Day at Miamiville Trail Yard
We had the absolute pleasure of spending Father’s Day at Miamiville Trail Yard, and I can honestly say it was nothing short of amazing. From the moment we walked in, the energy, the atmosphere, and the genuine warmth from the staff made us feel like we were exactly where we were meant to be.
The space itself is beautiful—laid-back yet inviting, with a perfect balance of rustic charm and modern comfort. Whether you’re inside soaking up the cozy vibe or out on the patio enjoying the fresh air and scenic trail surroundings, you can tell that a lot of heart has gone into making this place special. It’s family-friendly without losing that “cool spot” feel that makes it great for everyone.
Now let’s talk about the food—absolutely phenomenal. Everything we ordered was fresh, full of flavor, and clearly made with care. Each dish came out hot and beautifully plated. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in what they do. The flavors were bold but balanced, the portions generous, and there’s something on the menu for every type of eater. Whether you’re going for comfort food or something with a little twist, they hit the mark every time.
What made it even more memorable was how perfect it felt to be there with our whole family on a day that means so much. We laughed, we talked, we ate great food, and we just enjoyed being together in a place that fosters that kind of connection. It’s rare to find a restaurant that not only serves great meals but also helps create moments like that.
We even overheard a couple of guests voicing some complaints—but to us, everything was smooth, friendly, and well taken care of. Honestly, our experience was flawless, and it felt important to say that. The staff was attentive and kind without hovering, and they genuinely seemed to enjoy making guests feel at home.
Miamiville Trail Yard is absolutely a 5-star restaurant with 5-star people. You can feel the love and community the moment you walk in. It’s one of our favorite places to go as a family, and after this Father’s Day, it’s clear we’ll be back again and again.
Highly, highly recommended. Thank you, Miamiville Trail Yard, for making our day so special.

Read moreI live nearby so I come here often. The atmosphere is great, the outdoor dining is top notch, the drink selection is good, and the menu, though limited, is very good. Outside is dog friendly which is a plus. I like this place, I really do. However, I have NEVER had good service here. Not once, not ever. It pains me to say it, but it’s simply the truth. As I write this I’ve been seated for 10-15 minutes and haven’t seen a server yet. It’s like this all the time. It’s normal once I finally get a drink for me to finish it and and not get another one for 15 minutes. I don’t know what the deal is. The service is always excruciatingly slow. It seems like they’ve had staffing issues since day one and have never been able to resolve these issues.
**Update. Appetizer just came out. My table of eight can’t eat it because despite the fact our server said she’d bring silverware we have none. After waiting about five minutes my wife went up to the bar and asked for silverware. Bartender said “we’re a little backed up on silverware” and gave us one set, which is apparently all they have left. Unbelievable.
**Update 2: we finally got silverware for everyone. No plates though. They’re out of plates. At least we don’t all have to share one fork I guess.
**Update 3: I finished my drink and did not see our server for 15 minutes, par normal.
**Update 4: 45 minutes after ordering 7 out of 8 meals came out. Where’s my daughter’s food? Who knows? But hey, 88% is a passing grade right?
**Update 5: she finally got her food. We’re all finished now and have been waiting 30 minutes for our check. Drinks are gone.
**Update 6: finally got our checks. Not a single dish has been bussed from our table. We’ve been sitting with dirty dishes for 45 minutes. I was a server. I’m sure half of you reading this were servers. You don’t walk into the back of house without dirty dishes. This is serving 101.
Look, I like this place, really I do. In spite of everything I’ll be back. I just wish the owners would hire adequate staff and train...
