I do not live very close to the bakery and I looked forward to going to it on my vacation and trying things because I have heard so much about it from friends. I have to say that all the food I have tried is delicious. the donuts are amazing. Apple fritter was great. and pickled products are awesome. Customer service was very friendly and accommodating when asked to taste test pickles. I did have some problems when checking out. I bought several items in jars - 7 in total - and the person assisting me put them into waxed bags. I paid and told her I was going to my car to get a shopping bag with handles. When I came back in she had already double bagged all of my items in plastic bags. I told her I did not need the plastic bags - this is because I think that they pollute the earth and are a waste of plastic so when I took my items out of the plastic bags what did she do? She threw them in the trash. That upset me but they were so busy I didn't say anything. She also punched a card for me to use if I go back. When I got home and unpackaged my items there was no card. When I looked at the receipt I had been charged for two jars of pumpkin apple butter when I only bought one. Normally I would call a business and complain about this so that I could get my money back. But since it could be several months if not longer before I am in the area of the store I didn't bother. this was very disappointing to me. I should clarify that this was at the store...
Read moreNice place to walk into. The smell of fresh donuts is everywhere in the place. However, with it being my first time in the store & hearing so many good stories of amazing donuts. I arrived at just after 3pm and the store was wiped out of most everything. So, I took a 10 pack of the most fluffiest cookies off the shelf & ordered a 1 pound container of Broccoli salad. Headed up to the counter to pay & was shocked at the price of the cookies. $6.99 for 10 fluffy cookies was in my opinion expensive. The cookies were damn good & I has just ridden 35 miles on my bike so I was hungry. My salad & cookies equaled just under $13.00 The broccoli salad was in the top 3 best I've had so far in my life. It's a meal on it's own. I couldn't taste, sample or devour ANY donuts since they were sold out. I will be back again. Next time I will stop there first, before any bike ride gets started. By the way. That broccoli salad was so good. My cat ate everything i put in front of him except the cauliflower. That cat ate everything. Cant blame him. I ate everything & still wanted more. Guess i had better plan another trip to there. For now, I am going to visit the store on...
Read moreI am a doughnut connoisseur. I grew up eating doughnuts at the neighborhood bakery in Peru, Ind. and I've eaten them all over the country, wherever I've traveled. I must say that I have never, I repeat, never had doughnuts as delectable as Rise N Roll. I appreciate that you've opened stores in Fort Wayne and Warsaw. I understand from the great gentleman who owns the Fort Wayne franchise that you'll never open a store more than 75 miles from your bakery in Middlebury. Just a suggestion: If you opened another bakery in the Indianapolis area and then opened satellite stores in areas like Columbus, Lafayette, Anderson, and Kokomo, then you'd share your delicious delights with even more happy customers. Consider this a new mission field. You wouldn't deprive people of the doughnut "gospel", would you? Remember, as the Good Book says, "Go ye, therefore, into all the world!" Okay, a bit out of context but you...
