Nauvoo Family Market — Restaurant in Middlefield Township

We LOVE this market. Do not be misled by the unassuming exterior. There are treasures to be found inside. I am completely obsessed with their enormous, freshly made glazed donuts. They are pillowy, warm, and coated in the perfect amount of sugar glaze. And, they're the size of your face. Absolutely heavenly. There are also cream sticks, fry pies, traditional pies, whoopie pies, cookies, and so many other delicious Amish baked goods available. They also sell loads of different types of bulk foods, from candy to baking supplies, to dry goods like pastas and spices. There is a cooler with meats, cheeses, and drinks as well. My youngest son's favorite is their extensive selection of specialty sprinkles and colored sugars for baking/cake decorating. My teenagers love their selection of different gummy candies, which range from gummy sharks to gummy fried eggs, and everything in between. You'll find a lot of the same dry goods that they sell down the road at End of the Commons in Mesopotamia, but without the tourist-trap price tags. They also sell hardware and Amish clothing and household wares. Definitely add this hidden gem to your list when visiting...

The homemade bread here is simply amazing. It’s making me gain weight!! So are all the other homemade items!!!! They have a bit of everything, the deli makes sandwiches to order, like an Amish Subway only better. The candy selection takes up 2 aisles and the gummy bears are incredible and only about 2 dollars a pound. You can buy an authentic Amish hat or a wheelbarrow. The staff is super friendly and they will speak to you in Pennsylvania Dutch if you speak Pennsylvania Dutch.... if you don’t go anywhere else in Middlefield, go check this...

Went for the first time. They do have a large amount of bulk items and not in huge sizes. Price is about average. They only have one register so the line gets long but move along. We went in the middle of August so it was very warm inside, no air conditioning. They also have a nice size hardware area and I will check it out next visit. They have a snack area and a clean restroom. Shopping carts and hand baskets available. Go early if you want bake goods. They sell out fast. Opens at 6am....
