Jimi’s Sunnyside Up Diner — Restaurant in Middlesex Township

My brother-in-law and I needed a "recovery" breakfast last Sunday after quite a few ales the day before. Moving to the area a few years ago, I never really sought out a breakfast spot. After consulting the Googles, we decided to try Jimi's as it was very close with a high rating.

First off, the place was bustling early, which is a good sign of how great the food is. The servers didn't miss a beat and were quite friendly. Their menu has all the essentials and at a great price. Our coffees were perfect and topped off often. Having demolished the biscuits and gravy, I felt extremely lucky to have a diner of this caliber so close to home.

Jimi's is so damn good, I brought my wife in this morning, not even one week later. She had the waffle breakfast which was top notch. The server recommended the chicken fried chicken and it did NOT disappoint.

This is the highest rated diner near me, so I wanted to give it a shot. As soon as I walked in, it smelled like a nursing home, although in the diner’s defense it could’ve been an actual old lady, who was complaining to her husband the whole time we were there, even though they were done eating. The food was good and the service is quick, but that’s the only good news. Bad news is the place is very tiny, like 5 tables total. The bathroom was out of order and I had to “go” the whole time, if you know what I mean. There are no fountain drinks only cans of pop you pour yourself, so not sure how refills would work. We stopped for a late brunch off the turnpike, and WOW, are we sure glad we did! Our food was prepared within minutes of ordering. The home fries were perfectly crispy yet tender in the center, and the scrambled eggs were the fluffiest I’ve ever had. Nothing we ordered was even the slightest bit greasy. My husband ordered the Christmas pancake and the Benny…the sauce was too good to be true. Everything was amazing! Reasonable prices and great service. We will definitely come back again and save this on the map (maybe carve out some time for bowling...
