As you wind up and down the beautiful roads of Saxonburg, Pennsylvania, you will come to a serene domain where the Selenite Tea House is nestled. At a glance, the property is beautiful. A fountain is flowing in a small lake and a flower garden awaits for you to sit and rest and have a cup of tea. The 1800s home is so inviting with its porch swing and wooden rocking chairs. As we entered the front door, the owner, Kelly, greeted us with her beautiful smile! At first sight, you see a lovely wooden staircase leading upstairs to four beautiful bedrooms that will take you back in time with their 4 post beds and decor! Downstairs there are several rooms eloquently decorated in the old world style of an English tea house. There awaited our table in a cozy corner ready for an afternoon of meeting up with old friends! We sit down and are given several selections of teas to choose from. I don’t want to give too much away so you can experience this for yourself! After the tea was steeped, a three tier tray of delicious tea sandwiches were placed for us to enjoy. Everything was fresh and delicious, and again I don’t want to give away too much of our experience so you will go and enjoy these delicacies,, but there is quite assortment. Our little group had plenty of time to reminisce about the past and indulge ! After our tea and lunch was over, we went outside and sat in the flower garden and chatted about old times we spent together in our youth as friends in Pittsburgh. The Selenite Tea House was a wonderful place to meet up and have a beautiful afternoon!...
Read moreThe Selenite Tea House was the ideal location for our intimate wedding. We only had 22 guests. From start to finish, the experience was a breeze. We got married in late August, and the venue could not have been more perfect! The views were breathtaking, fields filled with butterflies, a serene lake flooded with frog calls and bird chirping all wrapped up in the golden glow of the sunset. The pictures turned out beautiful! The venue itself is masterfully curated, inside and out. It felt like we were stepping into the pages of Better Homes & Gardens. The garden area is charming and needed very little extra décor because it's already so naturally beautiful. The indoor space is equally impressive. It felt like we were stepping back in time! Planning was a breeze thanks to the incredibly patient and accommodating owner Kelley! Every question we had was answered with care, and their on-site catering made it feel like a true one-stop shop. It’s rare to find a venue that’s this gorgeous and affordable without having to cut corners. Our reception dinner under the covered pergola was magical. The chandeliers and sparkling string lights created a warm, romantic ambiance that our guests are still raving about. If I had one wish, it would be to have had more time to soak in the beauty and tranquility of the place. I could have stayed there forever. If you're looking for a peaceful, stunning, and effortless venue for your wedding, I couldn’t recommend Selenite Tea House more. Photography by...
Read moreMet two of my old friends for a tea luncheon. This was my first time here. I was booking for 3 , and what I liked was you could all pay individually online gratuity and all included , so once we got there we could just concentrate on enjoying our time together. Beautiful location and easy to get to right off of route 8 for me. The grounds were beautiful , and the inside was charming. It was a very relaxed atmosphere. We had a delightful choice of loose teas to choose from and the food was Delicious. Most of my experiences at tea houses - you usually are still hungry afterwards . (my friends actually took some of their deserts home they couldn’t finish because they were too full). After we ate , we wanted to spend more time together, so we went up to the garden and hung out for a while . The staff was lovely & owner Kelly shared that you could rent the home/ space. This would be a great gathering for a bachelorette party, a small intimate wedding, or a shower. They have date nights too - what a cool idea. Definitely worth...
