I stumbled by this place when I was driving through the town once, and loved it. Drove a pizza an hour home to my partner, who also loved it. We finally made the trek to get the full experience.
Let me tell you - we drove an hour to eat here, but I would've driven quite a bit further once I knew how great this place is. You wouldn't expect a tiny town to have such an underappreciated restaurant, but Papa Pepperoni's is this town's.
We ordered the pepperoni breadsticks and a large pepperoni pizza, with drinks. I'm going to say up front, the pepperoni breadsticks were the standout for me personally, and my partner agreed they were amazing. It's not a typical "pepperoni breadstick" like you'd find at a bar or New York pizza place - these were very...unique, but in a good way. They were flat, with open sides so they were only connected by the ends. The bread itself was wonderful - slightly chewy, dense, and flavorful. The "inside" was stuffed with cheese that slightly oozed out the sides, with a generous helping of pepperoni. The slight crunch at the ends of the stick rounded it out. I'm craving them right now, honestly. If you can't tell, I loved them.
Luckily for us all, the pizza still lived up to our hype. It's thin(ish) crust, which I appreciate, and like the breadsticks had a great texture. That slight crunch, following by a soft, flavorful chew. It's honestly a perfect pizza crust. The cheese is good, but not great admittedly. I think they could use a slightly higher quality cheese and do wonders for their pizza. I want to be clear - this is not a complaint. The cheese is good, and works just fine on the pizza. It was just the only thing I left going "man, I wish that was just a bit better."
I didn't know if I'd mention this or not, but I'm going to. I love the seasoning shake over the pizza when it's done cooking. I don't exactly know what it is, but I'm not usually a fan of seasonings on pizza, but I think it added something really unique to their pizza. I'm glad they do it.
Their ranch is to die for. I am going to get wings next time to dip in it.
One last shoutout to the drink situation. Fountain drinks are above any other, and giving free unlimited refills (even though it was Pepsi) in a pizza shop is very nice.
Lastly, service was good. It took a minute to cook but was worth the wait, and I think the employee was alone so not really their fault. He was nice and chatted with us for a minute. So A on service.
Overall Papa Pepperoni gets an A+ from us, and we will be back. Hopefully soon, and we'll get a Sno-Cone from nearby...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI reluctantly share this review, but not sure how else to make ownership aware of the POOR experience I just had. It really shocked me as I've never had a bad experience with Papa Pepperonis. However, it has been a bit since visiting - so not sure WHO was working this evening. I placed an order at 7:06 for pickup. Ordered a 12" specialty pizza and order of garlic knots. The man that TOOK my order asked if I wanted hand tossed or thin crust. I answered. He asked what sauce with my knots. I answered. He told me 30-35 minutes and the total would be $26.something... My husband gets there to pick it up and there is no order, no sign of an order ever being taken, and no one willing to "make it right". Other than take a new order and have him wait an additional 25 minutes or 30minutes. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE! Sure makes me question if I return. I hope this finds its way to the right people -so it doesn't...
