Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Midland City

This past weekend we stopped here for milk shakes about 4:30 on Sunday afternoon. The employees greet you with a look of "WHAT???" and of course no smile or how are you? . As my granddaughter and I were waiting for them to make our shakes I noticed an employee emptying the garbage. Of course, no one was starting the shakes so I wondered who would be the one to make them. The same employee that had emptied the garbage came back into the ice cream area behind the counter, NO GLOVES, and set the can down and proceeded over to the cups and lids . I was in shock that she didn't wash her hands nor did she put on gloves. While we were waiting (they were NOT busy) I noticed there was paper all over the floor. It had the appearance of not being swept or mopped in a while. I do agree with one review which said that it used to be a lot nicer/cleaner/friendlier place to stop. It's a shame. We live right up the road but will choose to drive further most times because it is just nasty and you get such a non care attitude !! There have been some really nice employees over the years but there have also been just as many that were not. In my opinion, the manager is to blame. Whoever you are, you should take pride in the establishment that YOU are in charge of or step down!! I gave 2 stars because their food is good... but the service is usually very slow no matter what time of day . Rarely have I walked in and been greeted in a way that made me feel like they wanted...

Stopped there today. They were excepting cash only.. Wow.. Restaurant was unsanitary. Puddles on floor all around drink station . Also on countertops. Dirty tables as well. DISGUSTING. If I had looked around the place before ordering I would not have ordered. I waited at register 8 minutes before I was even acknowledged. Mind you, I was the only customer in line. Employees were chatting among themselves. One woman behind counter in street clothes. They were discussing the fact that food cost is high. Stating this was due to the amount of food being thrown away and comped because they had to replace the food when order was wrong. Believe me, employees there rarely get it right the first time. Our ice cream was made 1st. It sat melting on counter while the hot food was made and bagged. Cashier was unbelievably rude. I greeted her a couple of times. No response either time. I didnt even get a thank you... I long for the day this store closes and is replaced. Midland City deserves a decent, sanitary place to eat with a staff that understands what customer service is! I will NOT be back! I had only heard bad things about this restaurant.. I should have listened and avoided this...

Horrible drive thru experience. The order taker was very rude & extremely loud (I know the speaker can be loud but she was like, hollering). She even made a comment when I asked for light mayo she hollared at a female in the background and was saying they want light mayo, we don't have a button to choose that and I don't know why they ordered like that but that's what they want. She then told me to continue to order and as I started she began to over talk me about light mayo on a sandwich so I stop ordering, she was like you can keep ordering I can hear you with an attitude in her voice, me personally I'm like if you keep over talking me how can you hear my order by the time I finished ordering four cars had pulled up behind me. I sat there and thought about how rude and loud she was while sitting there waiting to get my food that this was a person I didn't want to see at the drive thru window nor take my money or serve me. I just ended up leaving. I don't think she realized I heard everything she was saying over the speaker. I ended up driving all the way into Dothan just to get my kids something to eat where the service...
