We used Parkwood to cater our wedding reception. And we are obligated to give a truthful review. It almost ruined our ceremony. The food was fine. The service was terrible. First of all, the caterers that attended us kept asking what was on the menu. They must have asked at least 5 times. My questions is, why did they need to know what is on the menu? The second thing that happened is that the food was delivered through the main door during our wedding ceremony. The third thing that happened is before our guests were done eating and before we had seconds, they removed the food. Then, they came to clear the tables while our guests were still eating their cake. I had to personally hold on to my plate to keep my cake until I was done. Then, they cleared the handouts that we had given our guests to take home and removed them from the tables. At that point, our guests thought that time was up and began to leave. We were actually not done with our ceremony. All that be done and we started to clear and put away tables and we asked for our food to tale home with us and we were told it was all to be donated. We balked and was given 1 main dish and 1 side. So the donation to whoever it was got about half of the food that we had paid for. We made a complaint to Heather and she turned the responsibility on us that we should have known that the food could not stay out 2 hours or it had to be thrown away. She asked what could she do to make it right because she wanted to have it known that they take pride in customer service. So we suggested to her to either give us the food that we would have gotten or reimburse us for that much food. It has been a week and a half and we have gotten no response from her. If you are considering using this deli we suggest the following: Ask questions: (1)-How long can the food stay out? (2)-Tell them when you want the meal to start. (3)-Tell them you donât want caterers asking you what the meal is and they are not to clear the tables. (4)-Ask if you are to bring containers so you can give some food to your guests. (5)-Ask if you need to bring a cake cutter. (6)-Get in writing that all food delivery will come in the back door; not during the ceremony from the front door. (7)-You own the food-you take the food. Get in writing that you are not donating the food. (8)-Be prepared to have anything goes wrong blamed on you-that you should have known New Jersey...

If youâre looking for a deli that delivers on flavor, quality, and atmosphere, look no further than Parkwood Deli in Midland Park, NJ. This place isnât just a sandwich shopâitâs an institution, home to some of the best sandwiches youâll ever eat and the one and only Deli Guy, who has taken TikTok by storm with his legendary sandwich-making skills, quick wit, and all-around great personality.
After a grueling day on the ambulance, running non-stop since 6 AM without so much as a second to eat, we finally had the chance to sit down and refuel, and let me tell youâParkwood Deli was exactly what we needed. The moment we unwrapped our sandwiches, we knew we were in for something special.
I went with the Waldwick Warrior, and it was nothing short of perfection. The crispy, savory prosciutto, the smooth, creamy mozzarella, the peppery arugula, and the sweet yet tangy roasted red peppers, all drizzled with rich balsamic, came together in the most flavorful, satisfying bite imaginable. After running calls for hours on end with nothing in our stomachs, this sandwich didnât just hit the spotâit brought us back to life.
But what truly sets Parkwood apart isnât just the foodâitâs the experience. The moment you walk in, youâre met with genuine hospitality, an old-school deli feel, and a staff that treats you like family. And of course, The Deli Guy himself makes the experience even better. Whether itâs your first visit or your hundredth, he makes sure you leave with a sandwich in your hand and a smile on your face.
And letâs not forgetâthe menu here is absolutely fantastic every sandwich is made with top-quality ingredients and piled high with flavor.
After 12+ hours of chaos, exhaustion, and zero food, Parkwood Deli delivered in every possible way. The Waldwick Warrior was pure magic, and thereâs no doubt Iâll be coming back for more. If you havenât been to Parkwood yet, do yourself a favor and get there ASAP.
Five stars, hands downâone of New Jerseyâs best...
Read moreHappened to be passing by today on the way to Hawthorne Chevy when my wife mentioned we'd be coming up on the Park Wood Deli. Certainly we couldn't pass up the opportunity to meet the now famous Zack "The Deli Guy" after seeing his Tictoc video. And we were genuinely happy to meet him and his staff for the very first time. Although it was mid-morning, no way would we be leaving without a sandwich. Ordered the Bronx Bomber and of course asked for Zack's autograph. Simply - this guy knows how to make a great sandwich!! (and that's an understatement). Will definitely be going back.
Wishing Zack "The Deli Guy", and his staff, the very best Christmas and the most wonderful Happy New Year.
Update:
Just wanted to add to my previous review - as I don't think it reflects my recent thoughts. First - please forgive me for not getting Roger- the "Deli Guy's" name correctly. Sorry about that. My only other mistake was not recognizing at that time how good Roger is at his craft.
Let me see if I can express it this way: Ever had what seemed to be a memorable event - no matter how small - that grew into a life time memory? Today is my 75th birthday and I can tell you that after all those years, some of us come to recognize that such moments in time are the true gifts of our existence. My wife and I after 50 years of marriage still remember our first date. Our experience at the Park Wood Deli is not quite as memorable - but it does rank up there. Sometimes these memorable experiences last a very long time and help us get through some of our routine difficulties. So - my advice: If you seem to be having just an ok day and need a pick-me-up - just head over to the Park Wood Deli and have Roger make you one of his great sandwiches. And if that doesn't work - well - I'll just have the Sister's of Notre Dame pray for you.
Merry...
