MMC's The Half Acre — Restaurant in Midland

I really wanted to love this place after all the good things I had heard, but honestly, it let me down.

Right when I walked in, the guy at the counter taking orders seemed like he didn’t want to be there at all — not welcoming, not friendly. The only bright spot was the sweet lady refilling the sweet tea machines; she had a great attitude.

The wait time was normal, and I definitely don’t mind waiting for some bomb BBQ. I ordered the green chile burger, brisket egg rolls, and Texas stuffed jalapeños. Unfortunately, the jalapeños looked like they were straight out of Rhode Island, not Texas — tiny and kind of sad looking. The flavor was decent, but the presentation needs some serious work. One of them even looked like someone had already taken a bite out of it.

The burger had a thick patty, which I appreciated, but it was lacking flavor. The cheese was melted perfectly — honestly badass — but the green chiles tasted like they came straight from a can.

The only real highlight was the brisket egg rolls. Those were actually pretty solid, but not enough to make me want to come back.

There’s nothing wrong with the location itself, but the whole vibe just doesn’t hit the same as other local spots. I’m not saying it needs to copy anyone else, but man — give me a reason to want to come back and...

Upon arriving at The Half Acre I Loved the way they Redid the place! Very classy and plenty of Parking! We got our order In got a little bit of everything, beef ribs, chicken(it was boneless), sausage, Stuffed Ground Beef Egg Rolls With Cheese and Chilis and of course The Bacon Wrapped Jalapeños!! Well the Order Did Take a Little Long To get Out and there did seem to be some confusion at the window were you pick up your order! Never the less the lady's were very friendly and we got our order!! Seating was packed but luckily they had some nice tables outside! Brisket had a nice bark, good cook on it, nice smoke, chicken was good too even though I was looking forward to a little bone🐔🦴, lol. Sausage was excellent, very well made, Green Chili Mac n cheese was Banging, the Bacon Wrapped Stuffed Jalapeños were a little on the heavy smoke side but not overdone and ever so delishous with the touch of Glaze they added!! And my FAVORITE DISH has to be those Stuffed Hatch Chili. GROUND BEEF Egg Rolls (Definitely Get The Eggrolls!!)😉😍😍😋😋!! They Were Super Fat In Size and Just So Damn Delicious!! So me and my dad had dirty fries,the twisted burger and a platter of meat, ribs brisket and I believe pulled pork, all of it was amazing with the exception of the burger patty on my burger and personally I didn't like the baked beans in the dirty fries but with the exception of the beans 13/10 fries, the only thing I didn't like on the burger was the burger patty and it tasted like it had no seasoning but we tried my dad's Patty and it has seasoning, it might've been a fluke but I still devoured it with the jalapeno bun which was super soft, for the meat......I almost did the half hour drive their and back for the meat not a single thing was wrong all of it was juicy all of the ribs fell off the bone and the brisket was beyond amazing if I can I'll buy a whole rack of ribs and brisket from them honestly besides the 2 hiccups I had I would only order my fries without baked beans because I thought it kinda threw off the flavor but I'll order everything else again I was told by a good man to come here and the only thing I regretted was that I ate too much and almost made my self sick eating so much...
