Housed in an unassuming strip mall in the middle of nowhere Midway, GA, 30 minutes from Savannah, Hew was an unexpected made from scratch family-run Asian fusion surprise for somebody who’s been craving authentic Thai cuisine in the Savannah area.

The name is inspired by the Thai word for hungry, and make sure you are when you come here. Because you are going to want to try a variety of their yummy dishes - from Thai (green and red curries) to Korean (bulgogi and kim chi) to Japanese (tonkatsu) to Vietnamese (pho), there is something for everybody, and they even have a specials board. I was impressed with the fact that they serve Thai green milk tea, something which I have rarely found outside of Thailand. And they even sell some imported Thai snacks.

The food was fresh, flavorful and delicious, with a punch of spice that cleared out my sinuses, although the owners informed me that they are able to adjust the spice level to people’s requests. Clearly, I love it spicy! The meat was tender and it tasted like everything was made with attention to detail. Added bonus for you bubble tea lovers: they serve bubble tea and make the popping boba with fresh fruit juice.

On talking to the friendly family who owns and runs this local eatery, I found out that Ann, Brian and Brianna pay attention to good quality ingredients, do not use MSG and value authenticity.

The decor is absolutely delightful, and the gorgeous colors are reminiscent of Thailand.

This place is well worth a trip from Savannah because it’s actually tastier and more authentic than any of the Thai places I have found in the Hostess City. Eat here ASAP, and tell them I...

Walked in for the first time today at 11:40am I was very excited to try the food. Not long after I walked in I was asked to leave because they were cooking for a big party apparently and said they would be open in 10 minutes. I got in my car and left per instructions! This isn’t about being impatient this is about being rudely treated as a new customer not knowing where to go when I walked in. Do I sit at a table do I order at the counter no clue? The food smelled really good but I’ll never know because I won’t come back due to customer service experience. I noticed when I walked in the multitude of signs all over the restaurant telling customers what not to do even had signs when you parked complaining about where you should park! Anyway I don’t like being bossed around I just want to eat and be left alone this place looks to be ran by some people who like to complain… I won’t ever be back...

I'm not big on giving reviews, but this restaurant I simply had to. This was some of the best food I've had in this area. It was not very expensive at all. It was just a cozy. It was hard for me not to order the entire menu, but I will be back to try every single Item on the menu. I had the beef bulgugi noodles, chicken tonkatsu, beef bulgogi boa, and chicken fried potstickers. Every single item hit. They were all so delicious. The place is clearly family owned and family oriented, this is a fantastic place to bring your family. They chat with me, helped me with the menu, recommended items to my wife, and even gave my son chocolate. This honestly has left me very pleasantly surprised. If you have not been here you should. The family that owns this restaurant deserves the best and the restaurant 100% deserves more traction. Will be telling friends and...

As a local, let me tell you: if you find yourself in Midway, Georgia, or even just passing through, you absolutely must experience the magic of HEW! This authentic Thai restaurant is a true gem. Whether you choose to dine in and soak up the atmosphere or grab a takeout to enjoy at home, you're in for a real treat. Two dishes I simply can't recommend enough are their utterly delicious beef bulgogi – it's a must-try – and their incredible pan-seared lemongrass chicken pot stickers. Seriously, those pot stickers are addictive! Beyond the fantastic food, what truly sets HEW apart is the warm, family-owned atmosphere created by the amazing Ann and Brian. Their hospitality is just as top-notch as their cooking. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. Do yourself a favor and discover this local favorite!

You must come here if you want great food and a great experience. The food is extremely fair priced for such high quality meals with fresh ingredients. I could tell that the ingredients were fresh because of how great the food tasted as well as how I felt afterwards. I felt very full because they give great portion sizes, but I didn’t feel bloated or gross like I do with fatty or greasy foods. The atmosphere was great and the owners were so kind. We brought our baby in and felt it was a wonderful friendly environment. Very unique and fun restaurant that you need to visit! In the pictures is the teriyaki chicken and the green curry.
