Oak Park Tavern — Restaurant in Mifflin Township

Place is nice and has a nice atmosphere, but the waitresses there are rude! Waitress name was Stacy and she sent out another beer when we said no. And charged me for it.then she brings out a steak that was supposed to be pink in center and was well done my friend ate it because it was $32.00 and didn't want to wait to get his steak back so he ate it we told her if she could do an adjustment on the bill, she said NO because you ate it in a very smart and snooty manner ,and you guys have the nerve to charge me over $7.00 just to run my credit card. I'm extremely pissed off because covid is over and you shouldn't have to charge for that? Believe me you charge enough to not do that that is extremely dirty pool. And I won't be coming back. And my friends won't either and they live in mansfield, I'm from Louisville Kentucky and we don't do that to a customer,and believe me our steakhouses are alot better than this place with similar pricing. You really,really really need to train your hostesses to be nicer. That would be a step in the right direction. And the other hostesses acted like they were mad to be there. Like I said before covid is over and you can't have anyone afraid to work!!! They think they should just show up and still get paid she didn't get a very good tip either because she made up a reason to have a manager do that ,and she didn't want to do that because I'd slam her. Just bad attitudes from the workers ,but a nice place you will lose customers if this keeps happening. You can respond back but it won't work we're not coming back and telling everyone I know that this place is overrated for the price of the food. Especially...

Very disappointed tonight we had reservations for my grandmothers 89th birthday as a suprise to her as she has always loved the perch dinner. When reservations were made we were not asked whether we would be sitting inside or outside I suppose we should NOT have assumed we would be inside, when we arrived we were told it would be outside after they were deciding where to seat us. Reservations were made for party of 7 so our seats should have already been ready when we arrived to begin with. We have an 89 year old who has health issues just got out of the hospital 2 weeks ago and could not sit outside for dinner due to the heat. We were met with a very rude man at the hostess station who said that's all we have and nothing he could do. We were very frustrated as to why we were not even asked if putting tables together was an option inside and were told sorry that's all we have nothing could be done. That should be a question when making reservations inside or outside! We have made reservations before always have sat inside. The man behind hostess stand became even ruder which escalated the situation and we left. Very disappointed in this establishment as our family has been coming there for decades and will no longer return ever again. Customer service when charging the price for meals they do should be a given and there should have been help in figuring out a solution instead of just oh well too bad. No asking if we'd like to speak to a Manager nothing..... pretty sad this is how this high priced restaurant is ran. It was our 1st visit, and OH MY, what an awesome dining experience. We didn't even know this gem existed. We tried to dine for a special occasion, my wife's (early) 70th birthday, and her upcoming retirement this coming Friday, with her sister and brother-in-law, who came from WI. Our 1st choice was closed due to not enough staff, our 2nd choice also short staffed, so they had to have limited diners, and was sold out. They were kind enough to recommend Oak Park Tavern and Restaurant which we had never heard of. The owner said we'd love it. Let me tell you he was right, they were very busy, and all they had was the outside dining patio, (however, it was 48 degrees, so the girls said NO THANKS), but they said all 4 of us could sit at the bar, which we did. The bartender was the sweetest young blond woman, (I never thought to ask her her name, I'm editing this because I just checked our receipt, and her name is Melissa), and so personable, she was the BEST, and her attitude, and service was just outstanding!!! The food and deserts were off the charts spectacular. All of us truly enjoyed the entire experience, and we will now be loyal repeat customers after our experience, and our guests from WI, said the same thing. If you truly want a wonderful dining experience, you MUST TRY THEM, you won't regret it. I would however, suggest you make a reservation if you want to be sure you...
