Los Carlos Restaurant & Cantina — Restaurant in Miles

Used to go here 3 years ago. Went back and had a bad experience but it happens to us all sometimes. The chicken strips were their signature dish. Just a heads up, when you sit down they ask if you want white sauce and queso with your chips. We said sure, but I’d really like some salsa. The waitress looked at me like “duh, we’ll bring some too”. The waitress gave us the bill before we were half way done eating. Never refilled either of our waters. We both ordered chicken strips with waters. The bill was 32$ and after slapping on a 5$ tip, almost $40. They charge you for those chips and salsa and queso and white sauce. They charge a lot. The little cup of queso was delicious- better than the slightly burnt chicken strips. We would have gotten our waters refilled if the waitress didn’t drop off our check a few minutes after giving us food and spend the rest of her time up front talking to the young man cashier. We will go back probably, as it’s the only place to eat in Miles. But if we have more energy, we’ll keep driving to Beefmasters in Ballinger and get all you can eat steak for 10$ On Friday. But as far as Los Carlos, The young man cashier was very nice. The other waitress and other man there were also nice. Even our waitress was nice. It is a pleasant atmosphere. Just shocked at the price and service is all. They seem like nice people and I’d hang out with them or take a road trip any day. Bring back Russ Hartzel or however you spell his name. He was...

Ordered 3 catfish plates with 2 coleslaw & 1 fries as the sides. All of the hush puppies weren’t cooked completely. The inside of them was just mush, which made them inedible! Got 2 fries instead of 2 coleslaw which isn’t what I ordered. One plate of catfish was a dark brown so overcooked that you couldn’t eat it. It was like they refried old catfish that was extra from another order. The 2nd & 3rd plate of catfish wasn’t cooked all the way. Had some kind of yellow coloring between the catfish & cornmeal batter. Never seen that before in my life. So couldn’t eat that either! So disappointed in their food & don’t want to order...

We stopped in on our way through town, the waitress was AWESOME! She brought crayons and a coloring book for our toddler as well as extra napkins without us having to ask.
