We only cook on real hickory pits. All wood. Good help isn't easy to find. Coming to a restaurant 2 minutes before they close with a party of 6 is just rude unless you call prior and they can be ready. Just a few answers. To a few of these posts. Not one of the people who complained asked for a manager or person in charge or they would have taken care of the problem. It is easier to go on social media and knock down a restaurant than it is to ask for someone. As Management, we would really like to be able to take care of any problem that may arise right then. Not a week later when you are in a bad mood. Thank you for your input but I personally do not spend my day on social media. I get 98's on my health ratings and I'm busy trying to Manage less fortunate people who sometimes have a hard time finding jobs but turn out to be loyal, excellent employees. In regards to the person who called with the last name of Pernell...you brought it up.. We do have caller ID and it not only gives a name but also a number. I could just block the number and you would have to come over to order. I have received multiple calls from these numbers and no one comes to pick up the orders. I call the number back and they say no one called from that phone to make an order. You have to stop somewhere. I have, since just reading your post, taken the name off of my list. If it should continue I will not hesitate to place it back on. The comments we get from everyone are not always going to be great. We try hard just like anywhere else. Most Management would never take the time sit and write this down. I'm not most management. I Care. Thank you to EVERYONE for the comments on the food, staff and atmosphere. Good or bad. Just don't walk out of a restaurant P.O'ed. Ask for a manager or get his or her phone number and call them at a decent time or get them right then. Most employees won't come up to management and say "I gave crappy service to someone and the kitchen messed up and I didn't care". That is the hardest struggle we have in this industry and if we can't get it taken care of then, it most likely may happen to someone else. I'm a very concerned Manager and I love my job. I clean, cook, work the line, manage, work long hours, serve tables, wash dishes and I'm the owner. Don't go on social media to express your feelings if you haven't taken the time to go...
Read moreWe visited smokehouse around 12pm today 9/28/25 and the service was good. Our server seemed to have quite a few tables and we were stuck in a corner so it seemed like sometimes we were last ones being helped. They have some younger girls (HS age) who are helping run food out and refilling drinks. I was served the wrong drink 2x and multiple of our items were cold/didn't seem homemade. They brought out my peach cobbler with our appetizer and that was ice cold (literally straight out of the fridge cold). The fried pickles were good, though it was mostly their batter and not many pickles in our basket. We asked for ranch and was given a tiny little cup to share between the two of us for a whole basket. We both ordered the southern fried chicken Meat +3's and my husband got collards and mac and cheese. I originally ordered the mac and cheese, sweet potato casserole, and onion rings, not thinking about my allergy but afterwards had to change my side from sweet potato casserole to a side salad due to my walnut allergy. The mac and cheese did not taste or look homemade, it was served cold/room temp and seemed like it was either Velveeta or just something store bought. The fried chicken was good, very greasy but decent enough that if we ever were to visit again i would be willing to get it. My husband said his collards were bland but not the worst he has ever eaten. The onion rings were okay, nothing special. We never got our corn muffins and my husband never got his ice cream. The one bite of peach cobbler i tried, i wanted to spit out due to it being so cold. It truly tasted like a can of peaches and boxed cake mix for the small amount of cobbler i actually got. I hope after they're done with construction they can do a bit of an overhaul and get everything situated again. We live not far so I was hoping to find a BBQ spot that isn't a chain. We likely...
Read moreThe only reason I gave them the one star is because I had to. I honestly don't think they deserve that. First off I called to place and order and the rude person asked me is my last name Pernell my first response was to say what does my last name have to do with me wanting to order food. Being who I am I replied Yes, so then Miss Rudeness told me that because that's my last name I need to come and order at the window. So I decided to leave home and just go up there because I was really upset that I couldn't order food over the phone because of my last name REALLY, talk about stereotypes. So when I approached the window I asked the lady whom did I speak with when I called up here and she said me. I then asked her when someone calls up here do you ask everybody the question is your last name Pernell and she stated to me No I have caller ID and if your last name shows when you call then you have to come order at the window. Her facial expressions she gave me because I asked her the questions were rude and she also rolled her eyes and then told me she just doing what her manager told her to do. Excuse me but what kind of management is this business running. As a restruanant it does not matter what you have experienced with the person who has the last name of Pernell judging someone else off someone else's bad encounter is not only judgemental, but its also disrespectful and rude. Judging a book by its cover is a good way for you not to recieve good customer service. I will not and I repeat will not be returning at Smoke House anymore. Customer service is poor and you...
