I only give one star because I had to...I have pondered on how to start this review for a few days so I could make a logical and honest review on my personal experience. As someone who was taken advantage of on my own wedding day, I know how terrible it feels when you work so hard and spend so much money in order to create a day as perfect as you have imagined. This venue is one of the most beautiful and costly venues in the area which makes it desirable, yet unfortunately the staff makes it one of the most unattractive.
As a bridesmaid at my best friend's wedding last weekend, I was appalled at the lack of kindness and professionalism shown by the "coordinator" and the staff. Communication was COMPLETELY lacking. One of the most important aspects of running a business and it was nonexistent. The bathrooms went unattended to the point that I had to hunt staff down and stand in the kitchen until I found someone who could simply refill toilet paper and paper towels. For a venue that is as costly as this one, the bathrooms should be maintained, staff should be attentive, and staff should SMILE. Lastly, management should know how to staff an event appropriately. The reception was grossly understaffed which caused unnecessary stress.
The wedding party stood in a back hallway for way too long, waiting to be announced. Line up and timing should have been taken care of between the coordinator, Priss, and the DJ far in advance. This should have been easy. Take the list, line us up, announce and be done. Instead, it was disorganized and caused undue stress on the bride and groom while the entire wedding party were left to figure this out on our own. Luckily the DJ took over and was able to coordinate this without the help of the coordinator...
The serving staff, as a whole, were not friendly and clearly did not want to be there. I tried to speak with numerous staff, because I am friendly, unlike them. No one smiled, I barely got a word out of them, and it was uncomfortable. The bar was a cash bar-perfectly acceptable to have available at a wedding, but a trained bartender is necessary. For a larger wedding, such as this one, at least 2-3 bartenders are required. We were provided one. She was not trained on the bar. I know what a traditional liquor pour looks like, unfortunately we were handed drinks that were not worth the money spent. This took money out of our pockets and caused frustration. Our group of friends drink responsibly and tip our bartender well. We were treated as less than during the night and I regret handing my money over to them, as I am sure my best friend is.
I wish things would have been handled in a professional manner so this review could be a lot different, but here we are. Venue is beautiful, pricey and not worth the money or stress. Proceed with caution-or take my advice and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI should preface this by saying my wedding was beautiful and we did have an amazing night. However, it took a lotttt to get there. The first coordinator was fired and no one notified us, so we were completely in the dark for months. We basically had to plan everything in 4-5 months and other coordinators were dropping like flies. Iāve gone from coordinator to coordinator and no one seems to communicate. They also did not make me aware of several key things, like the fact that another wedding was happening that same day and a rehearsal during our set up time. We found out about the rehearsal on the wedding day. They tore down all of our decor right after our ceremony and we didnāt get any group photos in front of it. They did not communicate with kitchen staff so no one knew who was suppose to get what food based on our color coded place cards despite the fact that I emailed this to them TWICE and they assured me color coding was okay. The food also arrived cold according to some of my guests. The wait staff dropped plates loudly during dinner service. The cake, however, was beautiful and delicious. I think a lot of problems could have been solved if they focused on one event. It seemed like the entire staff was in a frenzy over their multiple events. This was not entirely their fault, and I know they tried to remedy the situation as best they could. For example, we were able to set up a few days early to see the space, we were able to store our items the night before, and they were able to accommodate us last minute for the rehearsal dinner when the hotel lost power. I reserved this space to avoid as much stress as possible and to be a little more hands-off considering Iām an out of state bride. I know you canāt avoid stress entirely but I was blind sided several times throughout the planning process and even on the day of. It was not the planning experience I would have liked to have. Oh, and they owe us money and I havenāt heard from management regarding it. All in all, it was probably one of the most beautiful weddings and venues. I got several comments on how gorgeous it was and I know the pictures will be amazing and everyone had a great time dancing and laughing and crying. So if youāre willing to go through a huge hassle like I did, then this is the place for you. Given their price though, there should not have been these...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst time at this restaurant and probably the last. There are a couple buildings on site and I called to ask where I go for my pick up order. Valerie answered the phone, I said I am in the parking lot, where do I go for a pick up order? Then suddenly the phone disconnected, she hung up on me. I called back Karen answered and was able to assist me. I thought maybe they are busy, 3 tables in the bar and 1 guy at the bar. It appeared she was washing glasses and apparently that was more important then a 30 second phone conversation. Since Valerie hung up on me I decided to write a review!
The food is mediocre at best, although the atmosphere is nice. Taste like the same commercial Sysco, or U.S food that is common in this area. The fries are shoestring and weāre soggy. They had an oily taste and I doubt the fryer was up to temp. The pretzel bread tasted like the frozen bread you buy at a super market and heat up. I would be astonished if this was made fresh. The cheese dip, was okay, again tasted commercial. The burger, was absolutely a commercial pressed burger. Five guys is better. The buffalo chicken fries was ratchet and we threw those away. Had the appearance and taste of frozen commercial chicken. heated up, with some sauce thrown on it. The fries were soggy. Also no seasoning on fries. Itās a shame the staff (Valerie) and the food is so under whelming. Itās a great atmosphere, I would happily pay more for better quality food and a actual trained chef.
I thought I was supporting a local business with locally sourced food. Could of gotten the same food at any major chain restaurant. If you are looking for quality food, solid service, for a nice evening out, this is a hard...
