Hillsboro Grill & Tavern — Restaurant in Mingo Junction

EDIT: Service has been consistently lousy when we visit. We've been in twice since my first review to sit down, and twice to order takeout. After what happened last weekend, we'll be sticking to takeout only (if that). When we first visited, we were told that the long wait was because there was only one cook and they were understaffed. Well, not much has changed in the last several months. After 20 minutes of waiting to even place an order, we put a dollar on the table for the water that was served, and went somewhere else. It was like this the last time we went as well, and the first time which is in the review that I originally wrote.

As long as you don't mind waiting an hour for food, it's a good place to eat.

The only two complaints I had was the looooooong wait, and when I did get my food my burger had the wrong toppings.

HOWEVER. It was a really good burger. The wings are massive and according to my fiance, the best he's ever had. The waitresses were both very apologetic, and while the long wait was annoying it was understandable. I've worked retail and food service, things get busy and stuff happens.

The atmosphere is cozy for a bar, there was even a family with a kid and there are high chairs available. They also offer takeout and I'm sure we will be doing that...

Each time we would come in to have dinner. The waitress WENDY always gave attitude and always missing. Had to have the cook come out and take the order. That Wendy is evil and shouldn’t be working around humans. We stopped going because of that waitress. Food I’d great but service sucks. Wendy would’ve gotten a nice tip but I figured she could get her bikers she was all over to tip her and none of these bikers were her man. Constantly smart with people even the older customers. We won’t be back until she is gone and I have quite a few that’s following me. Place is nice without that...

The wings here are THE BEST KEPT SECRET IN THE OHIO VALLEY. It’s like somebody designed this place with the food network in mind. The bar is in a literal basement of a house and they make the literal best wings I’ve ever tasted. If you need a sauce recommendation then I’d suggest going with “gunslingers” which is a spicy honey mustard flavor. The wings are so big, I could barely make it through 8 wings. If you’re looking for one of the most amazing food experiences of your life, you gotta order 8 gunslingers with a basket of beer-battered-cheese fries. Trust me, you won’t be...
