Beautiful rustic location with high quality food! Don't let the simplicity of their menu fool you. They really know how to make even the simplest of breakfast entrees into a work of art and really know how to appease your palate! Husband got the eggs florentine and I got the pancakes. The eggs florentine was so savory and came with rosemary potatoes which were divine. Everything was carefully curated down to a T. The pancakes were some of the fluffiest pancakes I've ever had ! So flavorful without being overly sweet. Absolutely a delight to eat. They use dogwood coffee and I got a latte - it was amazing with 4 cubes of sugar (I like my coffee sweet). The waiters are all super friendly and you're greeted immediately when you enter. The service was amazing. Can't recommend this place enough. Tips: I'm an early riser and it's important to note that the full brunch menu doesn't start until 10am. We came here a couple months ago at 8am and ended up leaving since we didn't want to try anything from the limited breakfast menu. But that didn't stop us from returning! Also, they weren't able to change or substitute the menu items if you have dietary restrictions. They believe in not changing the menu because it may compromise flavor, which I respect. However, the items we ordered were so delicious I don't mind trying other things on the menu! Already can't wait to come back!

Really lovely place! It was a gorgeous summer day and we sat outside, so our experience might be different from some. Arriving at 12:30 on a Saturday for brunch, there was no wait for tables either outside or in. The prices are justified by the attention to detail, quality of food, and kind attentive service. It really is all about the small things here. You feel a part of the neighborhood. We had the wonderful shrimp & grits, and their classic Benedict. The ham needs a better name, as it is crispy and clearly a special cut - delicious! The eggs couldn't be fresher, and they have nice Dogwood coffee & cold press. The mimosa & sale bloody looked nice as well. The main reasons I didn't give 5 stars were that the server walked right by us a few times and took other tables (who were seated after us) orders first. He apologized, but our food still came out after theirs, of course. Also the ambiance inside was not as nice as outside - it was spacious but seemed rather ascetic. But it was simple & clean - probably what they were going for. Overall, I gladly recommend The Kenwood! Enjoy!

My friend & I went to the Kenwood last night since neither of us had been since the new owner. We ordered the corn soup, fried oysters, bucatini, rigatoni and some iced teas. Aps first - the corn soup was great (solid B), I'd certainly get it again and, although I did not taste the oysters, they looked & smelled lovely. The rigatoni was nicely done (B+ on quality, presentation & flavor) although I don't do peppers, so this was not my dish. The bucatini missed the mark a bit for me, this is just personal preference, but it was a bit more al dente than was comfortable to twirl on my fork and get to my mouth. Also the cut of the bacon left large sections of dry, grainy bits and large chunks of fatty parts, so texturally a bit off-putting. The nicest part of the dish was that the sauce was nice and delicate - a beautifully done runny yoke on top, but overall a C- for me. But - saving the best for last - we ordered just "unsweetened iced tea" expecting the average black tea brew, but were very pleasantly surprised with a lovely current tea. We both had several refills - the tea was an A+!

The service was attentive, but not overbearing. I kept having trouble hearing the server however. And, TBH, was a bit grateful no one asked "how is everything?" b/c I was struggling whether I would answer honestly or not. The ambiance was average - nothing stands out as exceptional or displeasing except the amazingly beautiful pink rose on every table.

As I watched the tables around us & smelled all of the smells, if I went back I would try a burger perhaps, definitely some French fries and one of their salads. I think I missed my opportunity by going the...

You can really tell everything here is made with authentic joy and love. Most places today, unfortunately, you’re simply paying for the “ambiance” and sub-par food, leaving you unsatisfied and disheartened by the arm and a leg you just spent for something that feels rushed. Here, there’s a warmth, comfort and intentionality that comes with each dish, down to the details (they have fresh flowers and honestly, the cutest bathroom, funny thing to mention, I know!) I’ve been here for both the lunch and brunch (can’t rave enough about both, but the brunch is truly my favorite, honestly wish it was offered every day) and even as a vegetarian, I’m left more than satisfied and with leftovers. The focaccia is my favorite, and the basic spaghetti and gem salad, which are two things I’d never order if I’m being honest, were unexpected recommendations I’d suggest because they were just that good! I was seated at the bar this time, and I got to witness the head chef thank each customer with sincere humility and gratitude. You can tell he was truly happy to be doing what he’s doing. Our server was kind, not pushy, although her recommendations were spot on, especially with the seasonal, nonalcoholic beverage. Thank you for providing the community with a place to come take delight in delicious...
