Boonies Grill — Restaurant in Minnesota

Stopped in on Sunday Oct 12 2025. It's in a very remote area (hence the name I suppose) lol. When we parked out front there wasnt a lot of parking room, but I wasnt able to see if there was a parking lot behind also. Got in and we're greeted by a very nice woman who made us feel welcome. It's that old town feel with the hospitality. We got seated and drinks brought out expeditiously. We asked about the boonies secret sauce that were on their menu and if we could get just a little bit and she returned with a small cup and a couple fries for us to try it! A+ I ate the spicy burger with the secret sauce and oh yeah it was good. The burgers were delish. We had tator tots and onion rings and when I tell you they had the fried down to a science. Delishous dips partnering with the onion rings and tator tots were fantastic! One of the dips were sourcream with a top the tater like taste maybe had ranch. And the onion ring dip is great zesty twist for onion rings dips.

The place started gaining traffic and things were kicking up and seemed like everyone there was there for a good time.

Usually food and services are good. Unfortunately, my last visit was disappointing. My party arrived and we're seated promptly. After sitting for over 15 minutes without anyone coming to help us and seeing several other parties, coming after us, getting service, I had to flag down someone and ask for help. Finally someone came to get our order. Unfortunately, that wasn't the only issue. After our food had arrived, I had to again flag down an associate as my order was lacking everything that was stated to be part of the order. Ot was supposed to come with a side refried beans. The associate then told me that they were out of refried beans. Tats something they should have mentioned before accepting the order. No apologies were given, and no discount was offered, even though I didn't receive what was ordered. I've eaten here many times and I've had mixed results. Theres not a better place for a burger and a beer! Fresh hamburger patties and fresh buns. So good! Out in the middle of nowhere, a hidden gem for sure. The staff are top notch, they are attentive and have you your next drink before we have to ask. Our waitress was the bartender, and she was fast, funny and proficient. Eclectic bar with the back patio area perfect for a larger group of friends. Drinks are cold, food is hot and tasty, staff are friendly, there really isn't anything else you need! Perfect! Pictures are the pretzels bites are deep fried (unexpected and very very tasty) and then we had green beans for apps. Plus our burgers which are always good! We've brought a lot of new people here, and now they go there all the time. LOL We always stop on our way home from the airport as we make our way home further south. Keep it up Boonies, we will be back this summer with our 'Cuda for a nice warm...
