My name is Bryan. I am currently Visiting the Detroit Lakes Minnesota Area Again.|It's been close to 2 years since I've been here.|This is a great little Motel and Diner just a few miles North on Highway 59 outside of Detroit Lakes Minnesota. I highly recommend this place to everyone including American Truckers traveling on US Highway 59 going North and South. I wanted to take the time to write this review because I think it's a much-needed review. I believe in giving credit where credit is due. I stopped into this place yesterday on Labor Day to stay at the motel here. I had a chance to meet the owner the wife and husband owners here. They are extremely good people and awesome. This place. Was just acquired by the owners just a few months ago. It must be noted that any Past reviews that were less than desirable should be totally disregarded. This place is just something out of the 50s and 60s laid back atmosphere country music playing. These are the types of diners that don't exist hardly anymore. I believe it's a duty of the local populace and people passing through that remember how times used to be to support these these businesses and as they are becoming fewer and fewer. Personally I love diners like this you can come in its non rushed the service is totally mom and pop oriented great to bring your whole family in for a good meal. The soups here that she makes the owner's wife is something to be enjoyed. best soup I've had in years I can't remember when I've had soup this good. they have an excellent cook here that really knows what he's doing all the waitresses are just sweet hearts. I would highly recommend this place if you're traveling through US.. 59 up to US 2. I would consider it a big miss not to stop in and pay home to his place.

Thumbs up to the 59...

2/19/25 - We stopped by for a late lunch. We had mushroom & Swiss burgers and soup & salad bar. Everything was great. It was a nice relaxing time. No photos taken this time though! Date unknown but shortly after end of COVID times) After the 59er could open again, we stopped in for this Hot Hamburger Sandwich. It was pretty tasty.... But I think I will go for the shredded beef next time. The waitress was very friendly and cheerful. This is a very nice low key place to have a decent meal.

Glad we stopped in here. Old fashion 50’s diner. Awesome service, fast and friendly. I had the chopped Steak dinner which included choice of salad or soup and potato. It also came with 2 slices of buttered toast For under 11 dollars that is a lot of food!!! I recommend this place. My husband had the Walleye. It also came with soup or salad plus choice of potato. It also included rice and the toasted bread. We spitted a strawberry rhubarb pie. Everything was delicious.

It's just off the highway and a bit hard to spot. This is a real diner. The food is inexpensive and traditional American. I had a hot beef and peach pie and coffee. The gravy on the hot beef was so good. The peach pie was so much like peach cobbler really a treat. The service was very friendly though they were crazy busy and a bit short of help which can be typical nowadays. I would definitely go back try more dishes and pies.
