Honestly I had high hopes for our second visit. The first time we stopped here, we were so impressed with the prices and the amount of food, we almost questioned if they charged us correctly. We stopped here again since we were traveling through the area, and boy was it a huge disappointment. $16.99 for a brisket sandwich plate with “1/4” pound of brocket that was so small it didn’t even cover the width of the bun. Also potato salad that is store bought from Sam’s club. Very disappointing.

So...I had heard everybody talking about how good Roses BBQ was...people drive up from the coast just to grab a bite... I had to try it. We got there early 🌅 & it was busy! I soon found out why..I got the 🐓& he got the 🐃. Even the sauces were crazy good. Well worth the drive!! Highly recommend! 🏆🏆🏆 UPDATE: We went back in today and WOW The line was long & I knew why! 😋😋 The wait wasn't bad and it was seriously good PLUS the servings were EPIC!! Try them out, you'll thank me..👏👏

AMAZING BARBECUE! I love their sweet barbecue sauce and the golden (honey mustard style) sauce. The pulled pork sandwich is a must order item. I love the brisket and the smoked sausage. The HUGE potato logs are the best fried potato steak fries I’ve tried! Come hungry and order by the pound!!! You are going to love the food. There’s table inside to sit and eat. The single stall bathrooms are kept clean. The ladies working are patient and polite. Overall it’s a great experience!!!

Good Food but....

Smells like pee when you first walk in. Someone is mopping the main floor with the bathroom mop.(Or they are the same) Super unorganized. Employees are using small notepads for orders. You dont know where to stand to order. Are you in the gas station line or the Bbq line. Junk In front of the menus. The grocery store Deli is more organized and efficient. There needs to be an assembly line style to the place. There is definitely demand but its chaos. Remove the drink cooler and you have plenty of room for the food counter to wrap around the room. Is it a gas station that sells BBQ or a BBQ that sells gas(it was broken). Focus on one or the other. Seems like they should drop all the (Convience Store) junk that is IN THE WAY(and poorly stocked) and go 100% BBQ joint. Parking is a disaster. You have to show people where to park or they will park anywhere. And i do mean anywhere. Way too many options. Some were named the same or similar. Whats the difference? Reduce the menu to 5 or so options with add ons. You walk in and its menus everywhere and feels like 8,000 options. If you have anxiety, dont go in there.

The moral of the story is: If your gonna be trashy and unoganized you better have good food. Its not my go to but it does have good brisket. The good food seems to be their saving grace.

To remove stress: Focus on your highest profit, lowest maintenance product and customers and delete...

Rose's BBQ seems to have decent prices on meal specials but if you choose to order à la carte, then expect to spend about $30 for two people, easily (including two drinks).

The barbecue chicken is okay. The fried chicken and potato logs seem a bit dry to me. The loaded potato salad, smoked sausage and shrimp boudin on a stick are pretty hard to beat though. I get those exclusively when I visit Rose's BBQ.

Service.. it's hit and miss. I never get charged the same price for certain items each time I go. It's really cramped with all the gas station items and booths for dining in. There are two separate registers so that gas station only customers (register closest to entrance) can get in and out of there a little faster.

There is a small pump in front of the building with a couple of parking spaces. From what I've seen, customers tend to crowd that area so you may want to consider parking in the area to the left of the building. You'll have to walk a few extra feet to get to the front door but you'll almost always avoid the headache of trying to get...

I have heard so much about this place and decided to stop in with my husband. He has always maintained there BBQ is awesome. He and his Uncle use to stop there regularly coming from hunting. Well yesterday I stopped there and was greeted with good service. Even an hour before closing, they were busy. Several more guests showed up while we were waiting in line. We got our food to go because we were tired. I tried their sausage, ribs, and chicken. I will say this, it had a nice smoked flavor, but the quality fell short. We really should have gotten there after they took a slab out, but they were done cooking for the day. By the meat sitting in a case under a heating lamp, it dried the meat out a little bit. It still wasn't a deal breaker. The sausage was on point. I guess I am use to my husband's BBQ so it was a little different, but it was good. I would highly recommend travelers and tourists to stop by if they are ever in between Hattiesburg or Gulfport. It will be worth the stop...
