I am wanting to give some feedback on the dining experience my mom and I had at your restaurant today. While the food was delicious, the service we received was not acceptable. We walked into the front and taken back by one of the hosts at the front. We were told to pick a table since there were no customers. We picked the first clean table we saw (most had not been cleaned) and sat down with our menus. After about 15 minutes of watching other servers go in and out serving the guests who were golfing, the bartender asked if we had been helped and we said no. He then asked if all we wanted was water, I asked what else there was since all I saw was alcohol and I am not an alcohol drinker. He asked if I wanted a list and then proceeded to list all the beverages available. He brought our tea and water promptly. In the meantime, someone was asked to take our table to which I am pretty sure they stated it was not their table. They also stated that between shifts can get hard and that the server must not come in until five. Not our problem. Our order was finally taken and the food was served by someone else. We finished our meal, noticed like 5 servers standing around talking and doing nothing else. Finally, I went up to the bar and someone got the attention of the server who had our ticket; they turned and I told her we needed our ticket and a to go box. When they brought the ticket, we were asked if we needed a to go box. Wow! We paid and when we were leaving, a prominent Columbia figure came in and we are pretty sure he did not get the same lousy service we did. I really hope you can give your employees proper customer service training and let them know a customer is a customer no matter their economic status.
On a bright note, we really enjoyed the food and the gaming area...
Read moreThis place is amazing! We were traveling through to head to North Carolina when we stopped to just what we thought was a bar and grill! Boy were we totally wrong! We walked inside after parking and seen they had golf course and putt putt outside I thought was really cool! Walked inside got treated very politely and was asked if we’re were dining in or playing golf, which we dined in! Staff sat us at our table and with in 25 second a waitress was over took our drink or and no longer then 2 mins, she was back with our beverages! Took our food order and was very impressed on the food that we ordered, had a appetizer which was southwest chips and queso, absolutely amazing best I’ve ever had and these were not just your ordinary chips and queso they had the chips dr’d up and the queso was also dr’d up with corn and spice in it, again absolutely amazing! My cousin had the fish and fries! The thickest fish I’ve ever seen and IT WAS COOKED ALL THE WAY THROUGH! They even gave you a generous amount of tarter sauce! Lots of fries and decently priced! I had a amazing hamburger which they asked me how I would like that cooked I said with a slight pink in the middle with a fried egg! Boy let me tell you what that hamburger was freaking delicious, with my fried egg which had just enough yoke and slight pink to the middle those cooks freaking nailed it! WVERYTHING ABOUT THIS PLACE WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! From the golf games to the outside and farther down the road to more games and events it was just stunning! This place gets a 5 star...
Read moreRating a 4 star for a few reasons. It took forever to get someone to help me (I sat at the bar alone, so. Okay. Little bit of a pass.) Once I did they were not super helpful on recommendations or knowledgeable about what was on tap. (Probably a new hire. Again, give it a pass.)
I've frequented the other 44 establishments and expected 44 Tavern to be similar to 44 Stone. I was incorrect. Do not make this mistake.
The food is good, but it's not the same quality. The steak disco fries are amazing (or were at Stone) but the ones I got at Tavern had huge chunks of steak that no one can one-bite. So I had to use a knife to cut it. Plus the fries were bagged frozen grossness that just scream low-quality. Definitely a disappointing dish.
The deviled eggs were delicious. 12/10 recommend. The beer choices were great.
Honestly. I was sorely disappointed in my experience. Perhaps if I hadn't been to 44 Stone I wouldn't feel this way, but it's sub-par for my expectations of the 44 team. I'll be back again as this was only my first time there, and one experience shouldn't make or break...
