We have been coming to the Boat House for many years as we bought our Cobalt from Village Marina. We visited today to check out the new pool and bar area......Its really exceptional. Friendly wait staff and seriously good food.....try the shrimp tacos. They are amazing! During lunch we noticed, as we had children with us that the music took a very grim and LOUD turn. EXPLICIT rap music at a decimal so loud I couldn't cary a conversation with my wife who was 6 inches from me. Loud to the point that your heart will palpitate and you will excuse yourself to the bathroom or ANYWHERE to get relief from it......truly migraine inducing. Expletives from the music referring to "white HO's", sex and just about anything else you care to imagine... and the N word too many times to count......is this a family establishment or not? Docks are great and covered.......but don't attempt to take your boat unless you are exceptional at parking in high wake areas with ALOT of wind....and alone as there is no assistance on the docks to help park...
Read moreThe atmosphere is great! The pool and swim up bar is very inviting. There's customer parking by boat or vehicle. There are stairs to get to the dining area and it can become a bit congested with people coming and going. The live musician they had was great. Our waitress was attentive. Sadly, our meal was less than stellar. We waited over 1 1/2 hours for our meal. They were busy, but so are other lakeside bar and grills. We ordered fish tacos and wings. It really shouldn't have taken that long. The fish tacos were good, but the wings were semi-cold when we got them. With that being said, we were there on Memorial Day weekend. We'll give it another chance because it certainly has a lot of potential.
EDIT: We gave it another chance. This time, we ordered virgin strawberry daiquiri's for my kids. My daughter took a drink and thought it was disgusting! It turns out, it had RUM in it!! My friend ordered the fish tacos and had a big piece of plastic in it. We were very...
Read moreWent for lunch here because I figured the food would be great. We were seated, plenty of servers visible in the place but still had to wait a few minutes until we were approached for a drink order. Placed our food order, which consisted of a pizza, grilled chicken sandwich and tacos. The pizza arrived 30 min later as expected, takes time to make and bake. No sandwich or tacos. We all shared the pizza while waiting for the rest of our meal. 45 min later I was fed up and simply asked for our bill for drinks and pizza so we could leave. To clarify, the restaurant was not busy with plenty of open seats and we waited over an hour for a grilled chicken sandwich and tacos. I can say the pizza was mediocre. Our server failed to clear our empty drink cups and forgot to bring a water. Fairly minor stuff but hey, details matter. There is a lot of places to go eat and get drinks at LOZ. I wish this place had been better because it is close but I probably will not...
