Country Cafe — Restaurant in Missouri

The atmosphere of the restaurant is quite nice but the service was absolutely horrible. We sat down and waited 10 minutes for menus. The waitress that brought us the menus was an older woman with dark hair. Our drink order was taken and our drinks were brought out to us immediately. While we were telling our waitress our food order she was being so rude. My boyfriend asked the waitress for a plate of hash browns, an omelette placed on top and then a half order of biscuits and gravy on top of the omelette and the waitress replied with “honey, I’m not having my cooks do that, they already want to scalp me right now. You can do that yourself” and she said it with such attitude. Then I recited my order to her. She placed the order in with the kitchen and we waited 20 more minutes for the waitress to come tell us that they were out of sausage gravy. She offered us brown gravy for our breakfast plates or we could cancel the order. We told her that we would just go elsewhere and we left money for our drinks on the table and got up and left. We stopped in for breakfast on our way home from a camping trip on a Sunday morning. Upon arrival, we were basically ignored. There is no sign telling you to seat yourself...but eventually we did. There were many tables full, but several open also. After a bit, I was a little worried that no one saw us sit down, but eventually a young waitress did come to bring us silverware and menus. She was friendly. Our drinks were brought promptly, but my husband's coffee was sitting empty for quite a while before it was refilled...and our food seemed to take a very long time. My husband ordered the "ribeye" steak, so I thought maybe that was what was taking so long. However, when it came out we were shocked to see a fatty, thin, NOT ribeye piece of meat that was so undercooked I thought it might still be frozen in the middle. He ordered it Medium Well. He began to eat the rest of his food. My omelet was ok. Nothing special. We were never checked on again. Finally, tired of waiting, we went to the register to pay and explain about the steak. Our waitress spoke with another employee who took $10 off our bill. We were thankful for that. But I don't think...

First time eating there atmosphere was pretty good, typical little place in the country. I heard the waitress tell somebody they were down a cook and down a server, which was fine, we were willing to wait and be patient. We heard, what we believed to be the owner, tell at least four or five other tables around us, I think the place only has 10 tables maybe, that she was sorry for their wait and that their meals would be comped. For some reason we got charged even though we waited an hour and 10 minutes the same as everyone else. I don't mind paying my bill, and in fact, we felt bad when we heard they were down a cook and a waitress and we were actually going to give them a sizable tip, which we had already talked about, but it's a little hard to hear the owner go to every table but yours and comp their meals and walk right past you and you're the only table that gets charged??
