I recently had the pleasure of renting a boat from Frankie and Louie's at Lake of the Ozarks, and I cannot say enough positive things about my experience. From start to finish, everything was absolutely fantastic.
First and foremost, the staff at Frankie and Louie's were incredibly friendly and helpful. They greeted us with warm smiles and made us feel right at home. They took the time to explain all the necessary safety precautions and provided us with a thorough orientation of the boat, ensuring that we felt comfortable and confident before setting off on our adventure.
Speaking of the boat, it was in impeccable condition. Clean, well-maintained, and fully equipped with all the necessary amenities, it exceeded our expectations. We were impressed by the attention to detail and the level of care that went into ensuring that the boat was in top-notch condition for our rental.
Navigating the lake was an absolute breeze, thanks to the excellent guidance and recommendations provided by the staff at Frankie and Louie's. They gave us insider tips on the best spots to visit, the most scenic routes to take, and even suggested some hidden gems that we would have otherwise missed. Their knowledge and passion for the lake were truly evident, and it made our experience all the more enjoyable.
The rental process itself was seamless and hassle-free. Frankie and Louie's had everything well-organized, and we were able to get on the water quickly and efficiently. They also offered flexible rental options, allowing us to choose the duration that best suited our needs.
Overall, our experience with Frankie and Louie's boat rental was nothing short of exceptional. The outstanding customer service, the pristine condition of the boat, and the wealth of knowledge provided by the staff truly set them apart. If you're looking for a memorable and enjoyable boating experience at Lake of the Ozarks, I highly recommend Frankie and Louie's. Read moreI visited Frankie & Louie’s with my parents and a close friend who had just turned 21 this January. She presented her valid Missouri driver’s license, but was told it was fake because it didn’t scan using the ShowMeID app—an app that was recently removed from the App Store (as of March) and no longer supports Missouri’s updated license formats.
Trying to clarify, my friend even showed a photo of her paper temporary license—something you don’t receive with a fake ID. But even with that, the staff refused to believe her. The server returned, placed the ID back on the table, and said she wouldn’t be serving her. We were surprised and disappointed, especially since we were with my parents and trying to calmly explain the situation.
We asked to speak with a manager, hoping to resolve the misunderstanding, but unfortunately, the manager was even less open to listening. He insisted the ID was fake because of a “space” in the barcode, even after seeing it in person. As someone who is almost 22 with a license issued less than a year ago, I know firsthand that Missouri has updated its IDs, and older verification tools like ShowMeID no longer work reliably.
After realizing the conversation was going nowhere, we decided to leave. As we were walking out, we noticed both the server and the manager talking about the situation—which didn’t exactly make us feel any better about how things had been handled.
We ended up going to another restaurant where the same ID was immediately accepted. The hostess there even shared that her boyfriend had experienced the same issue with ShowMeID, and their manager confirmed the app was outdated and no longer supported.
We left Frankie & Louie’s feeling more disappointed than upset. We weren’t trying to cause a problem—we just wanted to be heard and treated with respect. I hope the staff and management take this as an opportunity to update their training, tools, and communication, so future customers don’t leave feeling...
Read moreI did call ahead and ask if they had options for GF and lactose free. They said they did have GF buns and wouldn’t have any issues with the lactose free. When we got there I told the waitress right off the bat that I was gluten and lactose intolerant. I told her I would just like to do a chicken sandwich and what toppings then the veggies. I verified that nothing would be cooked or have butter on it and the waitress said ahhhh I don’t know, I don’t think. Of course that made me super nervous bc normally if someone says that you know it’s going to get messed up. I asked her to PLEASE VERIFY THAT because it was super important bc of my allergy. She just acted like whatever lady. Which then made me mad. I again said I had to have a GF bun and no butter on the bun if they toasted it. When they brought my food out it had cheese on it and I immediately told them no I was gluten and lactose intolerant and told my waitress ALLLLL of that. After taking it back the waitress came back over and rudely said we don’t have just a chicken sandwich on the menu so that had to pick the option with a grilled chicken breast and change it. I just stared at her and was thinking so what’s the problem bc you screwed it up bc I told you exactly what I wanted. When they brought it out again I looked over everything VERY CAREFULLY and it did look ok but had ham on my chicken sandwich I did NOT ask for. I was sure I was going to end up sick but did not. Food was actually pretty good but overall would not recommend especially if you are super sensitive. Location is GREAT, fun atmosphere, kids love it there. Everyone else not gluten and lactose intolerant really loved their food. Live music was also great. Wish waitress cared or at least acted like she cared. There was never an apology or anything that food wasn’t correct. If you don’t have allergies would...
