My wife and I have been coming to the gravel bar for years. We've always enjoyed the beautiful location, laid back environment and friendly regulars. Hands down, it's a gold mine just waiting for opportunity. Unfortunately over the past year though we have witnessed an alarming increase in poor service, and 'non existent' management, which is hard not to take personal, when we love and care for the area so much.
Multiple times our orders have been received wrong, not due to kitchen mistakes, but initially being inputted incorrectly, including by the 'manager' herself. We have witnessed orders by others taking up to three tries before getting the order correct. Costly food waste cannot be profitable.. Daily specials are so poorly managed, why even offer them? Poor bar service has greatly increased. While sitting at the bar, we have literally been ignored by the 'manager' and the bar maid(s) when our beers are empty. They will gladly take your empty, but simply walk away without even asking if you would like another. Recently, a gentleman sitting next to us sat beer less for over 30 minutes and finally gave up and left. It would be somewhat understandable if they were busy, but there were more employees behind the bar than there were patrons, Overstaffed. I'm certain employees depend on tips, but I ask myself why would anyone want to leave a tip with receiving such poor service by FOH? It can't be fair to the rest of the employees? The most concerning thing is the extremely rude demeanor of the 'so called' manager towards the patrons, especially to the regulars. We have on multiple occasions overheard her raise her voice, yelling on top of her lungs towards employees and believe it or not, towards patrons, which is by far unprofessional as it gets. There's no wonder for the revolving door in the turnaround in employees and unhappy patrons, which points directly to the incompetence of the manager. Hopefully for the sake of establishment, before it's too late, the owners wake up to the ride they are being lead. If they decide to keep the worthless manager on staff to sink the ship, then they get what they deserve, permanently closed doors. Sad, very sad, as the place has such...
Read moreI go in almost everyday they are open. The other day the person on duty let it slip that the utility company contacted them because the bill hasn't been paid. I go in almost everyday to play their gambling machines and I hit the grand prize on one of their machines and the bartender on duty saw it, however the machine paid me out the second smallest prize and didn't even account for the money I had already on the machine! So, instead of paying me over $2100.00 it only paid me $130.00+. When I told the bartender that came in and was in charge she replied, "the machine will give you what it wants regardless of what it says you win!" That was the second time that one of their machines ripped me off! I get it their in trouble money wise, but don't cheat your loyal customers because right now that's all they have. By the way don't go on the weekends because there is a relative of a friend that picks pockets, took me for $300.00 even though I sat Infront of their cameras the whole time and they denied it happened. That's why it's up for sale. And I have to be very carefully of the food I get so I...
Read moreWe went to watch the Chiefs game, Sunday around 3. It is walk up counter order, wait staff brought food and condiments to us. The food is very good- bacon cheese burger was a large real beef burger, not a premade patty, nice pepper bacon, bun was soft and perfect. Hot fries. Hubby got the Reuben and wow, corn beef brisket, thick cut on rye, very tasty, not that deli stuff. Onion rings are a commercial prep and we will pass on them next time, not bad, not as good as everything else. Smallish bottle beer selection but enough choice for you to find a good one. Relaxed casual environment, TV had the game on, lovely spacious outdoor seating on the patio. We will...
