Don's Family Style Buffet — Restaurant in Moberly

Best buffet I've had in several, several years.🫠They had fried chicken, homemade mashed potatoes, fried okra,and the very..very. Best salad bar I have had in years.i made a salad And then ended up.Covering it with all these fresh vegetables, radishes, green peppers, onions.etc.. everything was just so fresh. I was staying down at a cabin in the middle of nowhere with a friend, And his local friend took us there. This place is fairly big, and it's a very small town but people drive from all over to go to it. Super friendly there. They have other things besides chicken on other days. I forgot what the second meat was. If you are heading down to Missouri. Just need a road trip, Make sure you check this place out. I think it was only around $12 a person. And did I mention they had about 20 different kinds of homemade desserts also??s There are so many great lakes to fish around there too.. Which was actually the purpose of the trip. HAHA and I managed to bring back about 150 pounds of pretty rocks 😁😇 that I collected for my new hosta...

My entire family love going to Don’s. We take advantage of their senior discount night ( Tuesday I believe). The buffet never gets low on food, even if the restaurant is busy. The wait staff and the kitchen staff are always moving, cleaning, and visiting with the customers. If you want a “down home” feel…. This is the place! Their fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, and green beans reminds me of my grandma”s. We especially love the little lady at the register when we leave…she is just as sweet as pie! Speaking of pie, they have a dessert buffet as well. I personally love the gooseberry pie and the butterfinger pie. It’s a big restaurant with a huge parking lot. Sometimes you will need to park further away,but, at least you can burn a calorie after eating too much, like always do. Great place to go. 3 meat choices on the buffet (fried chicken oh soooo good) several vegetable choices, gravy, rolls, salad bar and dessert bar complete with soft serve icecream. Food was out of this world good. We made reservations to have my Aunt's 89th surprise birthday party there. At least 20 people in our group. Besides other dinners (place was packed). They had everything set up for us when we arrived. Gave us great service. Even helped take pictures. You would have thought we was the only ones there. They never missed a beat. While still taking care of the rest of their guest. We will make this a favorite family gathering place. By the way..to let you know how helpful they were.
