Blues Tavern — Restaurant in Mobile

I could not stay because it was too smoky. Not a little bit Smokey... A lot to Smokey. I I'm not from around here, and I truly thought that no one anywhere was allowed to smoke in a bar. And at first I thought it wouldn't be too bad of a problem to have a little bit of smoke around me. But the guy behind me was chain-smoking. The guy on the other side of me had at least four cigarettes in the hour and a half that I was there. I'll bet 90% of the people were smoking actively while I was there. Finally got to the point where my eyes were burning and my throat was irritated and I decided I had to leave. I wanted to hear the band, but could not stay longer. Very light crowd that evening, I think about 35 people, although I did leave early, don't know if it picked up later. Will say the bartenders were very friendly and efficient. Mixed drinks are served in a plastic cup, five bucks. Shots were a little cheaper in a little mini plastic cup. It was fairly dark inside so I couldn't tell if it was clean or not... Although probably it's just as well it was dark, LOL. I was excited to have a blues bar local to where I am staying, but because of the smoke I really will not be...

Blues Tavern is a place that I have never been before. I have, though, been to their website at a time that I was looking for a place that my band could play. I became a member on their website so I could get updates about bands and maybe booking info. Well, that was a mistake. The site will not let me unsubscribe and if you look at the members of the site, they are 90% non-USA. These are mostly identity theft and hackers trying to get info on the other users of the site. Blues Tavern has no security on their website which makes it a nice dipping pool for hackers and con artists to get your email address and to possibly find a way to look at more personal information about you. DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO THIS WEBSITE. I have written the owners of Blues Tavern and informed them of this problem, but they don't seem to...

I had only heard tales of this magical place, but wasn't sure what I was getting myself into when I arrived. I didn't see the name posted on any plaque outside the building, however, the vibe felt right even before entering. The lights were as low as the hum of casual conversations floating through the air. I was greeted with a smile as if I was an old friend, and a seat was made for me at the bar in an instant. With plenty of room to mingle, dance, ample seating, a fairly large stage and all the expected accouterment adorning it's perimeter, this was certainly a chill place to party. 10 out of 10....
