I have been in a kind of mood to have something sweet on the weekends. I had never tried Cammie’s Old Dutch Ice Cream before. I knew of the one on Old Shell but just recently discovered the one on Halls Mill. I decided to try it out. I really didn’t know what flavor to get. There were so many flavors to choose from. My favorite Bluebell flavor is Pecan Pralines n’ Cream. They didn’t have that flavor but they did have Creole Praline. I saw a person ahead of me get a few samples. I had already made my decision. I ordered a pint of Creole Praline and took it home to find out how this praline compared to Bluebells. When I got home I took no time opening up the lid. The first thing I noticed was there was more pralines in this one. The second thing I noticed was there was more flavor in this one as well. It was really good. And it wasn’t overpowering. What I mean by that is that the ice cream was sweet but not overwhelming. It didn’t do too much. It was pretty much perfect. I will have to come back to try more flavors.

A guy with the last name of Widemire opened Widemire's Old Dutch Ice Cream Shoppe in 1969 using his fathers recipes for his ice creams. Cammie purchased the shoppe in 1998 and continues making all of their ice cream onsite with her husband. I stopped by while I was in the area visiting something else, and I am so glad I did. The employees were friendly. Everything was clean. The peppermint ice cream was pretty darn good. Well worth making my driver stop. They even had some of my friends on display!

Wowzzers! So happy we tried this place out today, new favorite ice cream shop for sure! Store associates were very kind & patient as my bf & I looked over every flavor & decided what we want. I got a single scoop of the red velvet & it was sooo good, super creamy & loaded with cake pieces. My bf got a double scoop waffle cone, German chocolate & maple bacon, both delicious! It was also a lot of ice cream, he almost couldn't finish it. Very reasonable prices for how much they give you.

First time trying this shop. Prices are fair, ice cream is very tasty and perfect stop on a hot day for a malt, shake, cone- any ice cream. Many flavours to choose from. Line was almost out the door, so you may need to wait for about 5 to 10 minutes. Polite 2 young woman working, they were doing their best to keep up with the influx of customers lining up. Interior is older, obviously, spots on floor need fixed, updated , basic stuff nothing that interferes with you though. I've lived in mobile my whole life, wish I knew this place was here! New long time customer as of my first visit. I recommend this location, family friendly, has a few small tables inside and benches outside. Mostly clean, but a...

The best experience with ice cream shops, a large amount of delicious ice cream, wonderful toppings, pecans, whip cream, bananas and several cherries. Well worth the price of a banana split. There are two types to choose from, traditional, vanilla, chocolate, strawberry with traditional toppings or special, any choice of ice cream and toppings. If you are wanting something unique and absolutely delicious make certain you visit Cammie's old Dutch Ice Cream and make it a repeat performance, you won't be sorry for...
