The Brave Bull — Restaurant in Modesto

When I say hidden treasure I mean exactly that… For years I’ve heard of the Brave Bull, but never had courage to go in alone until this last night. And I’m so happy I did! I’ve passed by it a million times and based on the location I assumed it was just another run down dive bar, but as soon as I walked in I realized that was NOT the case. An ENORMOUS disco ball, colorful lights and decor was just an accessory to the incredible bartenders that lit the place up with their energy. I’ve never been to a place and felt like one of the regulars immediately… They really do a great job of making you feel at home… I got to meet the owner who educated me on how he opened the bar 51 YEARS AGO!! The sweetest bartender made my drinks promptly even though they were crowded and the female bartender gave me some advice on raising cattle (if I ever choose to do so lol). There was an amazing drag show and local art vendors 10/10… I’ve been to other gay bars in the area and I can honestly say this has already become the one I’ll gladly drive an hour to visit. My party and I had minimal interaction with the staff as we attended the venue for an event so we pretty much kept to ourselves once checked in and were setup with our bottle service. The show started 30 mins behind schedule and there was no communication until right before starting. Cover 10-15$ exspensive for a weak show. Do not put card on tab lady will jack your prices and charge you way more than supposed to. Its obvious happens every time. But regardless if you get the man bartender other places do charge way less... and add more alcohol. Gender fluid bathrooms do need remodeling. Back outdoor area where you can smoke and drink is probably the best thing about this bar. Do not park at the outskirts ive heard people getting their cars...
