Swinging Bridge Cafe — Restaurant in Moline

Fantastic, place for a casual meal. Unbelievable customer service! Traveling thru the area and stopped for dinner. Restaurant was terribly understaffed this evening. Apparently the waitress was a no show. Russell, cook, cashier, etc was working alone. He clearly advised us that there would be a wait. We were in no rush, so it was not a problem. Juanita, (an off duty employee) was there for dinner with her family, jumped in and started servicing the tables. What an absolute joy, she was! We love this place. It used to be dirt cheap, but inflation ruined that just like most all low prices. The food is homelike and very tasty. We just really enjoy the food here. The five stars is based solely on the food. The service is ok. The thing that I feel could be improved upon: make everyone feel like a regular. We are fairly regular and it doesn't feel that way. The staff are friendly and all, but it could feel more welcoming. It also seems they go through wait staff like no other. There always seems to be someone different. Quaint little restaurant. One of those hidden jewels. It's may not be fine dining but it is good solid American food. Service was great. Family run and very friendly folks. Had Chopped Steak and some Chicken Strips. Gotta be honest here. That chopped steak was really good. Top quality in taste and quality of meat.
