Village Inn Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Monee

My friends and I were discriminated here on NYE. We’re young, but all of age and my group had multiple people of color and we ordered a round of shots. The people who were drinking showed their IDs. Now, some other customer had a problem with us and all of a sudden our service was stopped and I noticed my friends arguing with the customer. Turns out the bartenders refused to serve us because she said we didn’t show ID which wasn’t true because she HERSELF LOOKED AT THEM. The owner came out and spoke with us but it was ridiculous it even had to come to that. There was no reason that this should have ever happened and it really put a bad taste in my mouth. Discrimination is illegal and the fact that an employee allowed another guest to determine our service is outright ridiculous. We were looking for a new place to try, and we have lived in this town for many years and decided we would stop in and check it out. We read the reviews first and saw that they served food, so that was the main reason for stopping, we went on a Sunday and the place was a bit of a ghost town, but it was a nice little quaint bar. So we got to talking with the bartender Julie. She is an absolute peach. Very nice and friendly and we could have stayed all day talking with her. She makes the best drinks.
