Center Street Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Monona

MJ's is absolutely the best place I have eaten in the 7 years since my celiac diagnosis. I've never had so many options before, and I've eaten at many dedicated gluten free places!

Almost everything on the menu can be be made gluten, dairy, and soy free including the buns, pizza crust, breading for anything fried, etc. I had a fried mushrooms and a breaded pork tenderloin made from ribeye on the best GF bun I've ever had.

They have a dedicated gluten free fryer and prep space. If you're just gluten free they have chocolate cake for dessert.

I have never felt so safe eating out before and I cannot wait to go back!

Stopped in last week on the way back to Illinois from Mayo Clinic for lunch. It had been a few years since we were last there (I guess it has changed hands since then). As a Volney kid in the '70's, I remember this place as the old East Side Pub (my parents would occasionally take us there for supper). Anyway, the wife & I both had the Beer Cheese Burger & we also had the cheese curds. All of it was phenomenal! I had such an amazing visit at the Center Street Bar and Grill. I’m currently on a long distance bike tour from New York and the bartender, Emily was so accommodating and generous after a long day in the saddle. She really made my visit special.
