El Nopalito Mexican Restaurant and Pizzeria — Restaurant in Montague

I have ordered here before and had a similar experience as tonight but I was willing to give them another try. When I called and asked for the shrimp tacos (last time I had chicken) I asked them to use flour tortillas instead of corn, they said they don't have flour tortillas there. However, they make their quesadillas with them so why couldn't they improvise?? When I arrived to pick up, I asked for a side of guac, second time they didn't have any. How do you not have guac and serve what you serve?? Anyways, when I got home and opened my meal, the corn tortillas had already split in half, and the shrimp was laying on lettuce. We came to El Nopalito after visiting South Deerfield. We were immediately greeted when we walked through the door. Their staff are personable. We started with the side of queso and chips. I knew when it came out we picked a good location. It was a generous serving of queso and the chips were fresh. The birria was delicious. The enchilada was spicy in all the right ways. The burrito was massive and full of flavor. Other reviewers commented on the decor but I thought it was charming. I never thought we'd find authentic Mexican in Motague where you can get pizza. I stopped there on a whim during my lunch break after seeing a new sign on a small building I've driven by hundreds of times. And... This is by far the best Mexican food I've ever had in my life. The ingredients work together perfectly to create flavors I can only describe as pure and un-congested. No spice or ingredient gets in the way of another and it all just makes sense when you're eating it. The guy behind the counter was friendly and had great recommendations. This place is a diamond in the rough. They also care about their food, a lot. Which is something I don't see often when dining out in Western Massachusetts. So glad...
