A lovely watering hole with a storied history, warm atmosphere, and fantastic steak and bar fare Kitchen open till 2 AM!

Carmel's was the only place open in town when we arrived that wasn't fast food. When we came in, some of the regulars were having a small birthday celebration. It has a fantastic atmosphere. I had the chicken tender basket with onion rings, my companion had the ribeye steak. The steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the hand cut fries were PERFECT. The chicken was standard fare, but delicious nonetheless. The onion rings were probably the best I've ever had. We spoke with the new owner (purchased in January of 2024) and he said he was a former steakhouse operator (hence the amazing steak) and that he was going to be refreshing the building over the coming winter. I am giving this place 5 stars! Food was good and beer was cold! The stars are for our server on Sunday August 28th 2022...she was by herself. She was pleasant and helpful. Brought us drinks right away and they let us know she would be back to take our order after she got done cooking for another table. She came back as soon as that was done, took our order brought us more drinks while we waited for her to cook for all six of us! She brought the food out while still cooking the rest of our stuff so everything we got was hot! For being all by herself she did an amazing job! Kudos to her and she needs a raise! Thank you for giving us a pleasant experience. We tried to eat at donivans on Friday and were ignored and waited 2 hours after order was taken and still never got to eat! Left hungry! We finally found Carmel's and are glad that we did. Bar/restaurant recently celebrated their first anniversary under new owners. They have been working hard to update the place...ceiling, flooring, bar....they also have plans for a music stage and outdoor patio. Food has been very good- we have had their burgers, Montana Mex tots, and most recently New York strip steak and baked potato. Owners have precious history owning a steak house and my steak was excellent.

Owners/staff are very friendly, make accommodations for food allergies, and really care about your experience.

It hasn't been busy when we've been in there. Ample TVs to watch sports events. Prices seem high for Anaconda but are comparable with other local eateries.

We will be back again...going there rather than...
