Marvin's Tavern — Restaurant in Montana

I took the other review about the server with a grain of salt. With that said when we walked in and sat at the table instead of the bar the server I think assumed we wouldn't be "good bar customers" She came over and started to take our order. I had said I wanted a cheese burger with bacon and bison meat. No onions ,no pickles. She ripped off the paper that she was writing on, said I can't have the cheese burger it is different than the buffalo burger. I said ok can I have the Buffalo burger with cheese and bacon, no pickles, no onions. Ok. My husband orders the Marvin burger, no pickles. She never asks us what we would like to drink. We waited about 30 minutes. A cook comes out and asks my husband what kind of cheese he would like on his Marvin burger, cheddar. Ok. We wait another 20 minutes. Our burgers arrive. No cheese on his, no bacon or cheese on mine. The burgers themselves were ok. If it would have been what we ordered, they would have been better. This was at 4:30ish only a handful of people. The only good thing is that we didn't get charged for my cheese or bacon because she failed to write it down. If I had to choose between Red Robin and this place I would go to RR. When I go out for a burger which isn't often, I want a good burger. This was just Meh and service had something to be desired. Maybe if we had had sat at the bar she would have been...

We were looking for a place to eat and noticed that Marvin’s had really good looking burgers. All of the reviews were great and that is what I look for first and foremost. We ordered it to go because of Covid and took it back to our motorhome. Not only was the burger delicious But the homemade macaroni salad was just as good if not better than my own husband‘s recipe. If you can stop by this place in your travels and try out the macaroni salad You won’t be disappointed. My husband had a burger with pineapple and it was delicious. I had a burger also but mine was the classic Cheeseburger with grilled mushrooms and Swiss cheese. Excellent staff, and a fun little "old school country" bar. With a rich missoula history, 10 gambling machines. an inclusive food menu right up until 9 pm most nights. They will also whip you up anything out of the fryer until closing, if you ask nicely. So if you want a quality cocktail, and some chicken strips at midnight, or one of their amazing home style fresh cooked meals hand prepared by sandra each morning (if you are lucky) for lunch, or brunch... yes like this place. You probably will too. Stop in and drop a some tip$ on my friend red if you see him. He sings covers of country songs. His amazing voice is a sort of Mel Tillis, meets a Johnny Cash. Cool person to boot. Great times to be had at...
